I liked multiplayer. Yeah there were/are many times when shutting the game off and letting it set for a week was the only way to deal with it, but for me it was good.
The campaign on the other hand was a joke, crappy story, very short (I suck and I finished it in 5 hours) and left with a feeling of complete uncaring for characters or what happened.

All you guys who complain that it doesn't run right, that is a matter of perspective. My first online multiplayer game was doom over dialup while in university, drinking too much. Lag in mw3 has nothing on that. Plus it could only be 1v1, whoever was least drunk generally won. And communication was all typed and if you stopped to do that you got shot. Original spawn trapping perhaps? Get the other guy involved in conversation. Good Times.

I always said that BO was the best game in principal, but was often unplayable.
I think MW3 may be even better with all the additions, custom classes and game modes... but it is almost never playable so I cannot give a fair comparison.
Personally I am tired of IW game features like QuickScoping and Deathstreaks but I could live with them if I had a good gaming experience. Even though BO was frustrating, it never drove me to the point of wanting to throw the controller at the TV (I have never done it, but I have wanted to with MW3).
BO is the only "old-release" game I have ever gone back to play and have had fun (others have been too hacked up). I seriously doubt I will ever go back and play MW3.
If the matching is not better done in BO2, I am done.

Totally agree, on BO there used to be bad nights but following day be okay, but on MW3 it can last for weeks. I am so close to 20th (19th) so will keep chipping away.

I think they just added too many 'extra's' to an old engine. Also, these consoles are pretty old and upping the needed processing power with old hardware is never a good idea. I played BO this weekend for the first time in a while and yeah, the graphics are dark and it has it's issues but all in all, it was FUN. It ran great too. I have also been at the breaking point with this game and I can say that this is the first CoD ever to push me that far. I started playing CoD in it's first installment in high school. Just my 2 cents.

Well well well another year another COD , I have injoyed playing mw3 sometimes its been a roller coaster of injoy ment and so much anger I could smash everything in the house .
There are a few things wrong with this game lag , cheating , boosting , q/s ,sniping , camping , and if I remember B/OP was just as bad if not worse but with out the Q/S ,so the new B/OPs2 won't be any better , and I'm not going through it all again it's time for me to hang up COD

When it works I have really enjoyed this game, with greater consistency I would probably had an extra 30-40k kills, I had a 6 wk break from MW3 multiplayer earlier in it's life, however I did complete MW2, MW3, BO's on veteran and Killzone 3 on Elite, so I don't regret that.

When it works.. it never* does.
We all (wrongly) complain about being on the bad side off "lag comp" and then say "Hey I had a good game last nigh, the game was workingt"...
But I am betting that in ANY game where someone does good, someone else did poorly because they were on the bad side of"lag comp".
* I have had a couple of games where it did not seem lop sided and after the match everyone agreed that there were no WTF moments and all deaths were explainable and the scores were evenly matched (and the better team won)... these games are rare.

Every night I am able to find a lobby where it takes me 5-6 hitmarkers (torso) at close range with an SMG to get a kill. Eventually every night I am able to find a lobby where 3 hitmarkers (torso) will work at the same range. The added hit markers required for the kill in certain lobbies kills my rhythm and costs me countless double kills and inevitably leads to added deaths. This inconsistency is my biggest complaint with the game; just over lag and matchmaking.

Rlbl from my point of view I have to disagree with your comment 'it never works'.
I have had 'Advantage' and 'Disadvantage' way too many times to mention, but inbetween I have been in lots of highly competitive matches although sometimes few and far between, these are what have kept me in this game.

I like the comparison... however, when you buy a new car with some problems, you can take it back to a dealer, then they usually fix it or replace it under the warranty.

It was laggy kinda fun in some areas I almost couldn't keep my cool because there is always just ONE gun that tops overall. But when you get past that its pretty fun.

Black ops had horrible hit detection, lag, and snipers that came with empty cartridges. Mw3 had lag, an overpowered gun "mp7", and just felt boring to me. I don't have high expectations for BO2.
A couple odd things that should be noted though are that I only ever experienced lag on any cod game a month after black ops came out. Now every single cod game lags for me "I own every cod". Also mw3 played great the first month but after that the lag hit again. I don't know what activision does but it's obvious they can somehow control lag.

A disclaimer:
- MW3 - 1st FPS I ever played (let alone owned)
- Me - A 12th prestige / level 35, self acknowledged "meh" player who only knows his k/dr (0.50) and win percentage (38%) because they're listed on his Elite page
- Hooked by the "Black Tuesday" trailer - which I still watch
- The reason I play the game (taking nothing away from hardcore and/or stat driven players [each to his/her own]) - for the fun of it. Don't get me wrong here, when I play objective games (KC or Dom) I do put the team ahead of myself and do my damndest to get the team victory, but in the end, it's still all about fun. Period.
- Favorite MW3 moment - (over three respawns and I don't remember how many spent extended mags) Taking down an enemy hind with my USP .45 on Mission
_________________________________________________________
All of the above being said, this game always has been and continues to be..... epic fun. But hey, that's just me.
And now I'm looking forward to BLOPS2. Not interested in playing the original. Don't want to color my perceptions of 2.
Remember, you can't have slaughter without the laughter

Pretty like the hottest Amsterdam call girl you can buy, but full of diseases like the town **** in your own backyard.
I love this game, but HATE the matchmaking system the DEVS put in place for this title. It absolutely makes no sense for me to EVER be matched outside of the US when I know there are plenty of players in the US/Canada that I should be matched with first. It's like they said, make the system find a lobby as fast as possible with zero regard for latency. Whatever lobby has enough spots for you and your team, your going to get thrown in there.
I love how when I first start searching for games and it will search for a game at <50 PING, then automatically say NO GAMES FOUND and throw me into any random lobby. WTF DEVS, it should ALWAYS go through each of the PING limits before saying NO GAMES FOUND, no matter what. But then again, this game never fails to amaze me*.
*sorry it was longer than one sentence.

No probs, I always join 50 ping lobbies, but when it throws you out of the lobby at the end of the game straight into another lobby, which could be anywhere in world and god knows what ping it is complete lottery.
