i have a great tatic for BLACK OPS 2 I am vary suprise the developers never thought about this happing please

Posted by B359242 on Aug 16, 2012 6:13 PM

i learn that the assualt riot shild can be planted in to the grown and then shoot from in a box type hole to protect you from getting shot after learing that i imeditly thought of a team tactic that we could use is by having each team member carry a shield then when reaching a spot cloes to battle (middle of the map) they can plant the shield and try to make a bareel after doing that all meambers can use the box shape hole and shoot from using this will also give the team no blind side for them to be shot from to me this is a glitch in the game that the developers need to take a look at if alot of people discover this battles wont be as fun PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT IT I WILL REPLY TO ALL COMMENTS THANK YOU.

Unless the enemy comes from behind or the people in front throw a perfect grenade.

I'm having trouble understanding what this means. Are you trying to say that a whole team can use riotshields and create a wall that completely protects them?

If so. then I believe this won't be a problem. Have you actually seen gameplay of the riotshield being placed? To me, it doesn't even look like it gives you a good cover.

there is no tiny box hole, you can't shoot through the riot shield, only on top where then, you can be shot.

Yeah I don't think you can actually shoot through a little port on the riot shield. I thought the same thing when I saw the MP reveal trailer, it makes it look  like that, but I think it really showed a guy plant his riot shield and then the very next frame was somebody using the target finder attachment for his gun which is why all the enemies were marked with a red diamond. Even if that were the case though, a whole team would not be invincible, there's plenty of ways to kill people doing that even without killstreaks raining down from the sky.

smart but i have learned not all teamates cooperate and also it could be harder than you thing someone throws a semtex or frag or c4 they get a pretty good kill out of it.

i think it would be good for one thing only a barrier around the bomb in savbotage or demolition

if you get a high enuf vantage point u can just pick ppl off from above or thru cracks in between the riot shields. better yet, avoid them all together

I'm curious if you can removed them after you've planted them and whether you can plant them in buildings. What's stopping someone from planting one in a building and blocking a doorway?

What is this Sparta? lol. but no David Vanderhaar did make mention of this at the q&a at gamescom saying players will probably be making formations and such.

Many things in theory don't work in practice because in practice there are many smaller details that are not realised in the theory.

Put simply, this tactic won't happen much or work to anywhere near the effect you mean. I can, however, see short-term and lesser "shield blockades" that will work. Certainly, a stop and kill tactic before moving on may help multiple shield users.

Some of the smaller details that I can think of that will prevent a permanent shield formation "á la Roman Tortoise" are:

    - players not being able to place them accurately (through first person perspective, neighbouring players, shield placing game physics, etc.)

    - players being shot through the holes

    - reduced visibility within the shield wall allowing enemies to snipe from far, approach from nearby corners, etc.

    - equipment, grenades and killstreaks

There's certain to be a ton more smaller things too.

I agree with this. Great theory but in reality I don't see the happening much or being a problem. You could say a similar thing about riot shields in MW3 where one of them could whip out their gun take the kill and carry on. Doesn't really happen

This reminds me of a player on BO forum who wanted 5 players for a team. 1 to snipe at the edges of the map, 2 to run'n'gun the enemy spawn, 1 with lmg to give covering fire, etc etc.

These thought up tactics seldom works, especially because the other team never just bends over and take it.

A few players with shields might help in an objective based game, but a full team shield wall? The other team is not just gonna rush it with their head up their *ss. It will have to be in the open, or people will just sneak up via buildings and blow you to sh*t. And in the open I doubt Riot Shields give you prober protection. You'll get sniped.

I'll love to see it tried out though, preferably with me on the opposing team:-)
