Community Knowledge Base - Share Your Tips and Tricks

Hi,

In another thread a gamer colleague just realized a feature in the game. Someone people knew it day 1, others are just finding out.  Why not pool our knowledge here so people can learn knew things that are obvious to others.

Disclaimer:

Do not post stuff that is:

- An Opinion (lol, I am serious though)

- How to cheat

- How to boost

  - Anything that can get you banned

- Theories : On Lag Compensation, Aim Assist blah blah blah

Please post:

- Best ways to get a perk pro

- How to survive attacks

- game features (like how to stack point streaks, how to choose point streaks, etc...)

- Perk setups for gaining something specific.

- Links to youtube videos on tips and tricks (that are not obvious, and not outdated... like using a trophy system to get sitrep pro)

If this has already been done, please post the thread here.

When approaching your next prestige, try and get weapons to either 499,999 0r 2499 kills as they give 10000xp and can get you through the first few levels in one match.

I had a Barret at 499,MP9 at 999 and a Scar at 2499 all in one prestige and got up to about level 14 in 2-3 matches on any game mode.

Oviously this becomes harder to do as you move up each prestige level. Im 17th and im levelling up the MSR and the L86 and M16,all ready for the 30000xp when i prestige again.

      Perk 1: Recon

Just thought i'd chuck in that Dome is a great place to rapidly get recon to pro.  Take in semtex and flash or stun. At the start whack a tactical grenade over the fence and you'll light up 3-6 every time. Don't waste your semtex.

Also Dome is great for throwing your grenades each time you spawn just toss at a high angle each of your grenades at 3 different points manily towards the doors with the jeeps out front, the corridor, the building with the round broken roof or the bunker area 9/10 you'll hit a couple making recon-pro a dream to get.

And porti radar is no good on maps such as dome or bootleg due the tight size. (I know you didn't mention porti radar but thought id squeeze it in)

    Good post rlbl

Here are few tips from my experience ill focus on the opening of a match within a particular map:

    Map:

Dome:  When starting of (any game mode) if you are near the hummvees move away from them immediately. Try to get control of the dome entrance either from the cave through flash bangs / concussions follow with a frag / semtex and followed with a RPG or tube. Turn back around and head for the house, by then the spawns would have flipped them inside the main building.

I'll post more as we move forward with this thread.

Every map for KC has an area that is easily campable but will still let you pick up the tags you make like this one on village

Re: Community Knowledge Base - Share Your Tips and Tricks

Nice thread.  I'll probably add more and more as time goes by.  But to start with, now I am P20, a few tips on levelling up fast, aimed at the average player as most good players probably do all this anyway...

Play drop zone and dont worry about your KDR, seriously there is so much on offer in that game type you can breeze through perks and challenges.

Always try to have a set up that provides two or more challenges per kill, i.e. using two attachments completes two parts of the gun challenges.

Keep a close eye on the daily and weekly challenges they are usually simple enough to achieve.

Use stinger to take down air support until you get blind eye pro then use BE pro with an LMG to take them down.  The LMGs are quicker than pulling out a launcher and you can have something more useful as a secondary.  Taking down air support is very good XP.

Once you've maxed out a perk use a different one.  Might feel uncomfortable at first but as well as getting you more XP it will improve your game long term.

In order of preference use support, then specialist then assault packages.  Sounds a bit daft but if you go fro assault and end up getting nothing then you wont get as much XP.  At least with support you will get something.  I always had a support class with just the UAC and CUAV for those 30 second thrown in at the end matches, you will get something.

If you play objective games play the objective, dont killwhore.  Seriously, you might end up buffing your KDR but you will get far more XP playing the objective than getting kills.

There is probably plenty more but that is off the top of my head.

Re: Community Knowledge Base - Share Your Tips and Tricks

    A few things to add.

    1) Dropshotting, headglitching and other "dirty" tactics are a must use. Take advantage of whatever edge you can gain in a gun fight

    2) Never be the first one into an area. If you know a certain area is a hot spot for camping and such, and you see no teammates are present, but several are running towards it, let them go in first, watch for instant deaths and red dots. If its too populated, find a new spot. If they all seem to be watching one direction, flank.

    3) There's a nice little glitch to get SitRep Pro. I reported Wings of Redemption for doing it to BanCandy, and given he hasnt gotten banned, im guessing it's legal and IW is too lazy to patch it. Destroying teammates tactical equipment in HC counts toward getting SitRep Pro. All me and a few friends did was drop trophy systems when we spawned, and destroyed each others. We'd carry on and play the game until one of us died. We'd call the location we left the trophy and continue playing. Didn't take very long, and didn't disrupt the gameplay.

Really wouldn't recommend this. If you organize it, it's boosting. If you don't, you're a douchebag. Whether or not she banned that ******, that area is extremely grey.

Re: Community Knowledge Base - Share Your Tips and Tricks

    Here's a few contributions:

    Saving Killstreaks Before Rollover

    1. Earn whatever streaks you want to save.

    2. Switch your loadout and die.

    3. All earned killstreaks move to the bottom 4th generic banked slot.

    - can make two copies of the same loadout if you don't want to switch your playstyle

    - can't get moabs

    - cannot use the d-pad to cycle through items in the 4th slot, so you'll have to use them in order.

    Longshots

Are not based on having to shoot from a certain distance. Every weapon has a different distance you must shoot from to achieve a longshot. Shotties and pistols are actually easier than AR's and snipers. Here's the numbers, thanks to DK boards:

    14 yards for shotguns

    22 yards for pistols

34 yards for machine pistols and SMGs

42 yards for assault rifles and LMGs

43 yards for projectiles (RPG, grenade launcher, etc.)

    56 yards for sniper rifles

    Visibility

Hate the way things look from the perspective of the killstreaks (fuzzy, thermal, etc.)? Hit back/select to pull up the scoreboard. Obviously it obscures your vision in more drastic manners, but everything that you can see will look clear & familiar.

    Daily Challenges

Obviously this varies by challenge, but some of them can be abused for extra information. Example of a recent one "Kill a bomb carrier". If you are playing S&D, the daily challenge triggers when it happens. Man down, get challenge announcement, tell your team where the bomb is. Only works once for you, but for a team of 6, that's 6 times you can utilize it every time it comes up, instead of only once per entire prestige.

One I recommend is using your secondary guns (if you can) i.e. Handguns & Machine Pistols, you only need to max them to level 10 to get the 10k points total .. and obviously the bonus' prior to that.

    Speaking of Care Packages...

If you are an avid Javelin user, you are always looking for fun spots to lock on to that get you seemingly impossible kills. Care package helicopters are amazing for this. Have your Javelin ready to go, and when the care package helicopter flies in, lock on to where it stops. The helicopter will fly away out of the map as you expect, but your Javelin will stay locked on to where the helicopter was instead of the helicopter itself if you let it leave. Lots of fun can be had this way.

only run 2 kill streak rewards if you are struggling with getting them. UAV CUAV will reset much faster that UAV CUAV SAM or BV

I have a class set up with UAV CUAV and hard line pro and am constantly throwing up planes the whole round, really helps out the team and gets tonnes of points too

said this one on another thread too but put a bouncing betty under your trophy system most people will run in blindly to knife trophy and bouncing betty will get you 100 points. Kind of makes up for losing the trophy system

If there's a couple of people upstairs in Resistance stop just blindly running head first into the house step back have a class with recon pro, radar C4 and RPG and blast them out from the safety of the road.

Perfect overall extractor class is any SMG ,RPG, recon pro, assassin and steady aim, C4 and porti-radar.

To complete challenges like "Did you see that?" where you have to get a kill while flashed or stunned, carry stun grenades and when you find a stationary enemy, not looking at you, stun yourself and kill them.  For the think fast challenges, use a pistol or something light to wound them and hit them with the grenade.

When stacking killstreaks never overlap anything that comes in an airdrop (C.P and sentries) as you will lose them. Unless theyve fixed it within the last couple of weeks

Another hopefully useful piece of information ive found regarding taking out juggernauts is to basically spray a mag and a half of FMG akimbo's at its head or upperbody. Usually works for me anyway .

Another tip i have for all those sniper users out there is if your equipped with the L11 (first bolt action) when using in prone it has absolutely no recoil. Hope it helps .

I thought what the hey and give the tips and tricks thread a bit of a bump, of course it's for perfectly selfless reasons and nothing to do with posting a clip.

In another thread someone mentioned problems clearing people out of the one house in seatown so I thought i'd pop up what works for me.

Recon pro is easily the best perk.

Re: Community Knowledge Base - Share Your Tips and Tricks

    Dead Silence tip:

Use shotties.  Gets you in close range kill mode (until you get range).  So you can rack up the close range kills quite easily.

Once you get pro, spend a game or two jumping out of windows, of ledges, cliffs, anything high enough to make a crunch under your feet when you jump off.  2-3 games messing around doing this and you can get some good xp.

    Extreme Conditioning tip:

Nothing you can do will make you complete the challenge faster, just simply remember to sprint every chance you get.

Once you get pro, find anything that would normally toggle an "x" indicator to climb up on, rinse and repeat over and over again until spammed out.  Best levels for this are Bootleg, Resistance and Hardhat.  They all have tons of stuff for you to climb over and into.

To earn Hardline pro faster, use it in conjunction with Specialist. 1 kill and you have your "killstreak".  Even if you are dying a lot, you can easily get Hardline pro.

When I did level up (sitting pretty at 20 now ):

I'd immediately jump into Drop Zone.  There I'd spam both Recon and Blast Shield perks.  You can easily have BOTH of these perks proby the 5th or 6th games.  Key to spamming BS is owning the DZ.  If you've ever played then you know what I mean.  Constantly spam your lethals and tacticals as well, remember your using RECON.  Die, rinse, repeat.  I could easily be at level 20 in 4 games in that mode.

After spamming DZ and getting those perks pro, switch to your favorite game mode but be sure you are running Specialist.  This is the EASIEST method of leveling up.  Earn a certain perk 150 times, switch to new perk, rinse and repeat over and over and over for a steady stream of 10,000 xp.  Easiest way to earning said perk 150 times, as I pointed out above, is using Specialist in conjunction with Hardline.

    Map Tips: Liberation

I will share how I approach this highly snipping long distance map.

1st- Do not or avoid running / walking in the middle of the map. Use each side of the map, this is not a runners map and doing so will only feed kills.

2nd - Because its mostly filled with snipers you have to pay more attention to open spots they love to scope. Notorious is the dredge area underneath the two bridges each end is very dangerous.

3rd- I prefer the M16 with silencer, good distance and no noise makes a snipers life uncomfortable.

4th- Do not lose your cool, keep calm move and wait. You need to have patience to win and get a positive score.

5th- The radar detector can work if well placed, usually near the dredge area  I mentioned.

6th- Run your helicopter, because most snipers aren't carrying rocket launchers or blind eye they will have difficulty in dealing with the heli.

    Hope this helps.

Did you know: if you throw a bouncing betty at a wall, 90% of the time it will embed itself in the wall where you threw it. Whether thats 2ft or 6 ft off the ground. You have to know through experiance which walls this will work on. But it is something I found by accident. Even though it is set high in the wall, you will still get the kill unless the player goes prone. I believe it is a fault in the game mechanics?

A good tip for Kill Confirmed if you're hanging out around a specific area is to use enemy tags as a portable radar of sorts.

Although I rarely pick up tags, a buddy of mine who is more inclined to play the objective does this and it works to his advantage. If you leave a tag in a chokepoint, and it gets denied you know an enemy is coming that way.

A pretty simple tactic that can have huge rewards

Sometimes the best way to disrupt a campers pattern is to take up residence there yourself also it's a good way of learning the best way to breach a campers nest. Also a RPG is a great way to remove tac inserts.
