Please, PLEASE, for the love of all that is holy, DO NOT BRING BACK THE DREADED KNIFE!

Yes, they removed Commando in BLOPs and MW3, and they even removed Marathon/Lightweight in MW3, but panic knifing is still rampant in both games, worse than ever! The no-skill one-button kill that trumps Shotguns and SMGs alike in CQC has been driving people crazy for three games straight, constantly buzzkilling players who actually treat the game like a first-person-shooter! There are no excuses for panic knifing, if you do it you are just plain bad, but sadly there are a lot of bad players so the only solution I can see is for Treyarch (who I know cares more about balance than IW) to abolish the blade once and for all! Imagine a CoD without panic knifing! It would be glorious! Maybe they could keep the knife in Zombies and Campaign where it won't bother people, but in MP it has GOT TO GO!!!

    No. Keep the knife, take out lunge, and you're fine. The knife has no range, so no, it does NOT beat SMGs and shotguns. Take your time in CQC, and it won't be a problem.

    They'd never take out the knife. They have talked about possible knife changes. Everything from 2 in the chest 1 in the back to making it a third weapon that needs to be pulled out manually.

     

    But they won't take it out all together.

     

    I think it's fine though. So it's up to them to tell what the majority wants.

    We don't know the new knife system that BO2 will feature, but this are some options:

    - 2 hit kill

    - it's equipment

    - has to be pulled out first to be used

    Two hit kill from the front would make the most sense. It worked fine in games like MAG.

    2 hits to the front and one in the back like halo and MAG would be great.

    There has to be an up close melee option. Vahn mentioned this in some tweets but we may learn more Tuesday regarding this topic.

     

    What needs to go is the lunge that accompanies it.

    Best fix for the knife.

     

    1. NO lunge whatsoever, even while running

     

    2. put it in the equipment slot, or even as a secondary.

     

    3. 2 hit kill from ANYWHERE other than a stealth kill
