Elite Founders/Premiums: Will You be Renewing In Nov/Dec For BO2?

This is the dilemma I face.
I'm appalled by Elite. Shocked, saddened, dissapointed, let down, ripped-off, waste etc. These are all valid feelings towards Elite, its service, and what you get for your money.
A couple months ago, I vowed to never purchase another IW product again, that part will be easy. But also with the debacle of Elite this year I decided I'd stay well clear of Elite until a few weeks went by and reviews started coming in for BO2 version.
So now, we have an understaffed Dev Team (Beachhead), working on Elite Beta 1 and Elite Beta 2.0 at the same time. Much work for not many hands I fear!
Now, the dilemma, Do I/We:
- Buy Hardended again, but knowing full well that Elite could suffer just as much as it did this year...cos Beachhead develop it.
- Buy Elite, knowing that Vahn wouldn't let something that poor (MW3 Elite) anywhere near his game, so it's up to Vahns standard.
- Buy the game, wait, see Elite reviews and decide from there, after all I want to hurt Beachhead for their poor service the past year, and the only way to really hurt them is for this years Premiums NOT to renew.
- Buy the game, wait, wait, wait, and wait, until about April/May when the bugs start getting ironed out. (Again, let's be realistic, it's a Beachhead product after all, these are actually their own words: "Elite will never be finished" **Confidence in Product Decreases!!** )
- Completely boycott Elite in a massive Ragequit.
Just looking for Premiums opinions now that Hardended Edition and all that will be getting announced soon.
Quick Question: If the BO2 Hardended Editon had another 1 Year Elite membership with it would that be enough to sell you on it? Or would you consider an Elite membership to not be a big enough deal by itself considering its performance and peoples thoughts on it and would you want something else included in the Hardended aswell?
I bought Elite for the maps, cheaper that way. Now that I have a clan, things changed. So here is my deal.
If in BO2 clans will not continue from MW3 and have to start all over then forget it, I won't buy Elite this time. I don't want to start leveling up a clan all over. As for the maps, I will just wait it out till they have a special like 50% off. They better get real creative if they want to sell Elite again.
This is my line of thinking. Everyone has different reasons for buying or not buying.
It would be nice to see clans go from MW3 to BO2,pay the $50 and continue. However here is the dilema I see. Different games same logic. Were clans moved from BO to MW3? I wasn't in a clan in BO so I don't know and that is where I started playing this game. mwfan, you are right everyone has different reasons for buying or not. I however won't be buying for both. Now it's time for a clan meeting to see who is actually moving to bo2 and who isn't.
thing is, the maps are cheaper on their own seeing they got discounted. No way will I waste money on elite again.
Totally Agree,This sucks, first off they had so many problems that they said your elite that you bought will carry through until april of 2013,they lied I still have the email they sent, what a crock of crap cause its not showing me as a pass member,Boycottttt,no more money from me and my family all of which plays 15 kids wow ,,Guess ya will sucker more people in your liesssss..
Well first off, Vahn doens't control Elite. I'm sure he'll have it integrated more into BOII, but he doesn't control that product. Just multiplayer.
But in the end, you'll still get maps early and cheaper. I'm going to renew personally. I'm not happy with what Elite is and where it's at at this point. I think that it's ridiculous we've had to wait this long for stuff. But in the end, zombie maps trump my anger.
I'm in the same boat. I hate ELITE in its current state. My anger at what we've gotten has distracted me from the fact that Black Ops was a fantastic game. I have prepaid for my BO2, but I'm waiting to decide about renewing ELITE. I have a feeling that zombies will also tip the balance for me, as well.
undecided yet i think im going to wait for more info before i commit to buying it
I bought elite for the maps, anything else that comes with it is a secondary benefits (working or not)
I will buy it again simply for the maps!
not buying again
my elite is running till december with the free month , if bo2 hardend edition includes elite il go that route , if not i think i will still get elite just to save the hastle of buying map packs one off payment and forget about it ,new maps early and all of them . the major let down this time was putting the map packs on sale felt like a real kick in the teeth . the elite computer app is a waste its just to clunky and does not feel finished they should do away with elite tv and get the basics running right imo.
For me with a very sad face, the call of duty franchise is over!
The last 2 games have been so poor it's not worth carrying on!
As for elite, it has been an absolute joke, everything delivered late, most things not working. Then finally clan challenges come out and it's just clan opporations with different ops!!! How that took 9 months to develop I don't know.
map packs are slightly cheaper but lets be honest people used to just share with their friends, so it's now more expensive.
And this is why I'm excited for BO2. They're taking a risk...and if it pays off, then it could be golden.
Never subscribing to elite again, not buying blackops2 on console if elites intergrated into it and will only play the pc version
If it was up to me i would fire everyone who worked on the call of duty elite service get a better team to work on it who actually know what they are doing elite could have been a huge success but those retards making it ****** it all up i will not be buying elite because i do not want to reward failure
Definitely buying Elite. If you want DLC, it's a must-have!
I will probably not renew. Yes there have been many issues. Things have not worked or been late and while frustrating I realize Elite is a fairly new concept. For me though the main reason I will not renew is that most of my friends do not have Elite premium so you can't really play the DLC in a party with friends. $50 for DLC I rarely play is not something I am likely to do again...Unless BO2 is just insanely good, which I am also skeptical.
I will buy it again IF AND ONLY IF current members get a discount along the lines of at least 25% off. Otherwise no, the promises made of what features would be available and when they would be available were all broken. On top of that, Activision insists on packaging DLC I will actually play (MP maps) with spec ops missions that I would not buy on their own. The same goes for the face off maps, interesting idea but I would not have bought them if I didn't have Elite. Looking at it like that I got a good deal on stuff I didn't need.
I see no reason to expect better when Beachhead is still hiring people to catch up with what they are working on, and Activision is still in charge and squeezing all the money they can out of us, quality of service be damned.
In all seriousness, this was sold as a finished product and was at best in BETA stage. If you don't compensate consumers for that then no matter how good your service is next go round, people won't want it and they won't buy it. It might work in that new 8 year olds have mommy buy the game for them each year, but at some point your reputation is so bad no one cares what you have for them.
As of right now, i will not be buying another elite subscription... Unless they give 1 year subs with hardened copies of BO2. But the hardened edition better come with more than just elite, or else i wont buy it.
I am on the fence. I know buying map packs are more expensive but it seems like we got more maps faster that way. Here we are just a few months from a new game and still waiting on new maps. Honestly all the ELITE members who will continue to play these games will move on to BO2 and MW3 will become a place for hackers and glitchers. I myself am unable to log on to my ELITE account from anywhere but the Xbox and even though I've requested help have yet to recieve anything. The only way I can see them saving this is if ELITE went cross platform. I normally end up having to buy the game on three systems. The Xbox, the PS3, and the PC. I've only ever bought map packs for MW2 and BO1 on all systems, because really those were the last good games released. If you play them now though you get to watch a kill cam at the beginning of the game where the guy shoots the ground with a sniper and kills all of your team and you spawn in the air and fall to your death. It's CoD fashion to stop caring about the last game when the new game is out. So ten to one the reason why ELITE is so bad atm is cause Beachhead stopped caring and moved on to the new one. I feel as founders/Premium members we should be reward for staying as long as we have and dealing with all that we have with our subscriptions free for a year due to the lack of meeting promises. This will probably not happen and I'm afraid to say that even though I've spent a lot of money on this company that I will most likely not even buy BO2. I'm sorry if this came off as me crying, but lets face it we paid 50 dollars for services that we only got half of and when it is finally getting close to being what we paid for we are going to have to pay another 50 to enjoy it. Like I said it's like paying for xbox live but only getting to do one thing they have promised you you could do.
you get maps before collections, but very few people play in the elite-only matches
i don't think it's a success in this way.
no !
A: Elite was a huge disappointment and I still feel ripped-off even after getting most of the included DLC for "free". My main issue was the "Elite Playlists". I got the maps early true, but didn't really play them since they were thrown into mosh-pit lobbies. So, I really didn't bother playing them until they made their way into the main lobbies, since the Elite Playlists didn't include my mode of choice. So much for getting them early!
B: I really am not excited about the new Call of Duty: Halo Warfare at all... so again, won't need Elite!
I'll probably move onto the new Medal of Honor and revisit MW3 when I need my COD fix.
no
I will not be renewing elite again and her is why. I break it down to its simplest form, the multiplayer maps. The face off maps are not important or worth paying for in my opinion, When ever I look at how many people are playing F/O, it is around 5K. That's out of 200K or more. If, anything, F/O should be a free mode availble to those that buy elite or the map packs. As should Spec Ops. It is a cool mode, but again, how many people play it? So, lets look at he MP maps. There will be 12 well all are released. They are:
Collection #1
Black Box, Liberation, Overwatch, Piazza
Collection #2
Oasis, Foundation, Sanctuary
Collection #3
No new MP maps
Collection #4
Decomissioned, Offshore, Boardwalk, Parish, Gulch
Elite was $50 but for the MP maps only (collection 1, 2 and 4) it would be $45. Not to mention collection 1 and 2 were on sale ($7.50) not long after they were released, so it would have been even cheaper buying them individually. All the other lite things like clan ops are just bonuses, when they work. I don't see the point of buying elite again. One exception, if there is a hardened edition and it includes elite. I will definately buy it then sell the elite card/code to some one. But that's just me.
To clarify, I would only by the hardened edition for the steel case.
One more point. As far as getting the maps earlier, you don't unless you play the elite playlists. The playlists are more of moshpits. My friends and I usually only play HC TDM. We can't play the new maps early unless we get into a HC TDM lobby. If not, you have to back out and try again.
No to Elite,No to BO2, I'm done with this BS, exclusivity deals etc, gonna try and get my golf handicap down instead.
i'm also done with this franchise. i just go angry and rage from this game. maybe it's going to be interessting when the next gen consoles drop. i wish them all the pain we had too. i would be so happy if they would lost have of their loyal customers. it's about time to give them back what they diserve. i hate them. go to hell. ******* capitslism destroyed that franchise. what they do is capitalism in the most extrem way = disgusting.
Ill give Treyarch a chance, but for IW, never again.
I Second That
Ill renew elite because yes iw elite screwed up but treyarch did beter with creating games and if i didnt renew i would probly buy some other usless thing instead so im renewing
Stop crying. Ask yourself why did I buy Elite to begin with? If you were doing it to save money and you seriously expected to "LIKE" every map made then you set yourself up for disappointment.
I'm torn because elite sucked But when I was Playing black ops I only bought the map packs for the zombie maps. I also hear that elite is set to automatically renew after when year. So is it worth paying 50dollars for something that hasn't really been worth it? If they give us some kind of discount for renewing then I would definitely feel better about spending the money. Owell I guess I'll have to wait and see
mixed feelings here, first of all i bought premium coz i thought the new maps were going to be awesome.. but me and my clan members disable new mp-maps when we play especilly on clan operations.. ELITE is just a poor, sad web page, everything is late or not working.. clan operations and challenges don't show all of a sudden.. and just recently i was told to change the national flag and then it would appear, witch it did
.. clan page posting service, now that's a stupid censored story.. censure all kinds of normal words having my and my clan members posts looking like morse codes..LOL.. But IF the clan will follow on to BO2 so me and my fellow brothers in arm doesn't have to begin all over again, then i'll consider buying it.. But there are ALOT of room for improvments.. it was a good idea on paper but in reality, this here is just a big joke..
