Hats off to LMG users...

The title says it all. I cant tolerate the loss of mobilty, high recoil ,horrible hip fire and etc. Possibly the hardest guns to use (imo) even more so than shottys. Props to all the LMG users.

All I'll say is "Foregrip", I refuse to use any LMG without it.

Many of those can be overcome with grip plus kick, steady aim or even the speed proficency if you like to stay mobile. Lmg are very rewarding and fun to use on the right maps. The L86 is a great lmg to start with, solid rate of fire lowish kick for the lmg class.

Re: Hats off to LMG users...

It's really nothing. But if you're hardwired to bum rush then I could see why there might be a problem.

If you're looking to use them here's my recommendation:

Choice of LMG (in order of my favourites, L86>MK46=PKP>M60>MG36) For L86 and MK46 attachments: grip+thermal. For all others, grip+choice of prof (speed or impact), or kick+emags

Either a machine pistol or launcher (I'm trying to use the XM25 right now)

    Blind Eye Pro

    Hardline Pro

    Stalker Pro

    Semtex

    Portable Radar

    KS: pred-airstrike/heli-reaper

    pred/airstrike-reaper-AC130

Here's how to play with it. Shoot down EVERYTHING. Hardline+ shooting down things gets you to killstreaks quickly. Stalker makes it so you should never have to hipfire or be caught by LMG's terrible raise times. Portable radar helps you hold down an area (different from camping) and makes UAV less necessary.

Oh by the way, the recoil isn't that bad. ESPECIALLY if you go prone or get thermal+grip.

I'd recommend trying them again with a class like the one I suggested. Good luck!

Re: Hats off to LMG users...

Lol have you tried the lw 86 thing it's bad ass so is the m60

You just need to play like your using a slow gun.

    Same with shotguns.

If you use an smg you don't fight on long lines of sights same with shotguns.

    Lmgs

    Just move cautiously.

The guns ain't hard when your smart great players a shooting you when your busy lol

I will always an LMG without a grip. The L86 with grip is better than the ACR with kick.

Same here. I have much respect for LMG players in this game especially when loss of mobility & small maps can place you at a disadvantage at times against players using Assault Rifles, Shotguns & SMGs.

I regretfully haven't used LMG's enough in the past but I have been trying to make the most of them.

Re: Hats off to LMG users...

I've used LMG's extensively and I've never caught on to the suppressor. Something about it.

If you think about it, LMG's have extremely long range before the damage dropoff. They also have manageable recoil. So if you suppress an LMG you're only going to have 4-5 bullet kills more often.

Suppressors aren't exactly suited to the LMG playstyle either. Suppressors are great for flanking and taking out multiple enemies from behind; but with LMG's ideally you want to be holding down choke points and frankly being off the radar is hardly a concern.

I'd much rather have grip and choose a proficiency or use kick with another good attachment (like emags).

      That's just my $.02 though

As far as I know there's no drop of on lmgs is there I'm sure there 3 hit kill any range except the m60 2 up close

That is what I thought as well, even with a surpressor

I think that was only in MW2. I'm not sure what the LMG buff did though. Whatever. I like LMG's anyway so I won't think about it too much.

LMG's were amazing in MW2 especially the AUG HBAR, my favourite LMG.

Re: Hats off to LMG users...

There is no range drop off any more, and the silencer doesn't nerf the damage...

The silencer serves two main purposes,

Reduction or loss of "Visual Recoil" which is quite a big deal with most of the LMGs...

        and

It keeps you off of the map which can be very useful if you are taking down air support...

The LMGs are very adaptable in as much as they can be exploited for their unique strengths, or they can be manipulated so they almost resemble an Assault Rifle...

I have 5 different LMGs with their own classes and I am quite experienced with them (over 15K kills). I tend to manipulate and exploit so to speak...

For instance an L86 with Silencer and Thermal can be used as a full auto Sniper when you use Marksman Pro and go Prone, or with Grip and Thermal you have virtually zero recoil even while standing...

Re: Hats off to LMG users...

I'm absolutely loving the L86 and intending to do this whole prestige with it, I'm at level 52 and my other primary weapons are level 2 max so I've pretty much managed to do without them.

I've just had to change my style of play, I thought it would be a nightmare to use on maps that are fast and furious such as Dome but it's such a beast I'm getting some really good results, on top of that it's so much fun.

i love the l86. its by far my personal lmg choice. i use it often enuf i can manage without kick, i like scavenger pro with silencer and extended mags. thats 450 rounds haha. i also run all air support, chopper, strafe and pav low. which keeps people busy enuf for me to mow em down. lmgs are good, but arent run and gun weapons. with the right perks and killstreaks, its a combo that will = people being mad at you at the end of the game.

MK46 and USAS overkill, steady aim, and trophy - Who needs a suppressor with that kind of firepower - Assassin Cowards

Re: Hats off to LMG users...

LMG's are not really hard to use you just have to change how you play a bit and once you learn how to do this they quickly become some of the best weapons in the game as for there short-comings its really only the lower mobility, higher recoil is a near non issue with the map sizes and both of these can be side-stepped with perks and attachments (hell you can remove all of them with specalist) the L85 with RF and grip is insanly powerfull, i'v made loads of FNG noobs rage quit for amking them loose every head to head with it, the insane RO,3HK (if they have max health) and the ability to actually aim amkes that combo very powerful.
