I'm just going to say.  They have every right to compete just like my clam does.  And my clan has only come top ten once so I don't think they're stealing my top spot.  But it's kind of a jerk move to keep taking Champion when you can do nothing with the xp.  That's stopping someone who needs the xp from getting it.  Like I said, you have just as much of a right as I do, but still seems like a jerk move.

I think people need to keep some perspective here. The Clan Competitions, how they have evolved, have become a little pointless.

There are around 87,000 clans on Elite. Each week with the TDM and KC contests, there are probably 25,000 to 30,000 clans competing in the contests. The reality is, at least for the TDM contests.....there are really two competitions, with two separate groups:

    1. Group/contest 1. About a dozen or so clans using the 1:6 formula to get high scores

    2. Group/contest 2. Another 29,965 clans competing in the traditional way.

I know there are a lot of Lethal Energy bros sitting around every weekend, furiously beating off to the contents in this thread, oooo'ing and ahhhh'ng over the continual success at winning these contests, high fiving each other. But let's be real. It means almost nothing. They and their subclans are mostly the only clans competing using the 1:6 support techniques, and the other 99.99% of the clans are competing doing something entirely different.

You can't compare the two groups. And the second reality is, the other 99.999% of the clans, simply don't want to have five guys running around all weekend going putting up 0 kills and 985 deaths over three contests ...all so one 'ringer' in the clan can put up huge numbers and stack/boost the clan's contest scoring.

I'm not calling Lethal Energy cheaters. Don't get me wrong. But playing the TDM contests, with five riot shield carrying support people, who dont'/won't shoot/kill anyone, so just one guy can get kills....then doing that for the five other groups (so you can have your six scorers for the contest)...isn't some fabulous testament to 'skills'. It's more a testament to some ok organizational abilities and a very good job in talking some kids into dying a lot for the clan. That second point, is probably the most impressive thing about the contest. I really don't know anyone in our clan, or others, who would be willing to not shoot anyone and go 0-315 over three hours in a contest. But props to those who do, whatever floats your boat.

I got to call it like i see it. The above was not in the 'spirit' of how the comps were supposed to go. But once it started, Beachead just didn't have the time or energy to resolve it properly, so they let things go. And you have to be real here. Any clan that does the above, even putting mediocre players into the role of the 'ringer', is going to instantly place in the top 1/10th of 1%. Even if that clan is terrible. So ask yourself, what does that really say about skill? I'll tell you. Not much.

It's more about just playing playing with two different sets of rules. Two systems. Two separate contests. Lethal Energy, Wicked, their various subclans, ...the winner is pretty much the best of maybe 30 to 40 clans pulling the 1:6 support system....and the other 25,000 clans are playing a diffferent contest.

Just something to consider when patting yourselves on the back.

    To reply back:

    - I never said or implied Beachhead called these tactics illegal. I was quite clear up there, that LE and others are not cheating. I simply said that I don't think this was originally how Beachhead envisioned these contests going. It wasn't in the spirit of how the competitions were supposed to be played, using these tactics. And now, they (Beachead) simply don't want to deal with trying to find a resolution. They have Elite 2.0 to get ready for.

    - I do understand what the purpose of this thread was for. To get the list out. I agree with you on that point, that it's simply abhorable that Elite run these contests, and then keep everyone in the dark with who won, who placed where, and all the other things contests usually do with results. It's really, truely a mind boggling display of ineptitude on Beachhead's part. Especially for a for-pay premium service.

    - The above said, did you ever stop to consider the possibilities of 'why' Beachhead doesn't want to disclose the results? Why they don't put at least some effort into disclosing the result listings? One possible theory is that they are embarrassed by what the TDM and other contests have dissolved into. What people might see. See that there are a few mega-clans and their sub clans seriously tweaking the rules with the 1:5 x 6 format, to overwhelmingly make the contests pointless for 99.9999% of the clan population. They might not want to advertise that on the Elite clan leaderboard. It makes them look bad (and at least threads like these are somewhat obscure and buried)

    - And the above is bad. Let's be perfectly blunt here. As I said before, there is no 'skill' left in these contests. It's just those competing with the "1:5 x 6" system for the title, and everyone else competing for nothing. It's kind of sad when a group of very good players can play their best, and win all their games in a big manner, in a TDM contest......but then turn around and see that their mediocre teammates, who ran the "1:5 x6" system, can easily double their score in a contest.

The above ^^^....Yes, that is a true story. We had our better clan guys compete the traditional way recently in a TDM contest. Played as a team (something these contests long forgot), and won the games (as a clan contest should require). We had another 20 plus guys, the bottom guys in the clan, goof around with the 1:5 x 6 format (they did so, because most of their KD's were well south of 1.00, so they didn't care about dying a lot)  The less-skilled guys, guys with 0.75 KD's in the 'ringer' roles, almost doubled up the better players over three hours. It was kind of a joke. Well, not kind of, it was a joke. It made the contest look like a joke.
