AK47 Tube Adventures

I just recently started using the underslung grenade launcher attachment (to complete the challenge) on my AK-47 and I must admit I am definitely loving it! The AK is a beast, though the recoil is a bit much without the Kick Proficiency. It's still usable without Kick, but it's not as effective when I'm trying to shoot at a distance.

 

Any opinions on the AK? I've heard a lot of people say it's pretty weak...

 

 

This is actually my one "good" game today...the rest were just lagfest central

    Mute anybody who ******* about Noob Tubes. Sorry you use Assassin instead of Blast Shield, that's really not my problem. Lrn2Adjust.

    The AK is my favorite full auto AR, I've gotten 2 MOABs with it this week and it's a beast with Silencer and Ext Mags

     

    The key to the AK is that it's got high damage and really good range when used right. I find most of the recoil is visual, and the animation of the gun bouncing makes you think there's more recoil then there actually is. I typically just fire it in short bursts and drop the guy before I even have to worry about recoil.

     

    Threw up a ton of Pavelows with this class today

     

    AK47 Silencer+Ext Mags

    MP9 Silenced

    C4/Portable radar

     

    Scav Pro

    Assasain Pro

    Marksman Pro

     

    Pick a high traffic area, toss your motion sensor down to watch spawns behind you and just pick guys off from any range. IMO the AK is the most underused AR, and it's a beast when used right

    Way too many assassin users But the Ak47 is a good gun.

      What is wrong with assassin users? I play hardcore all the time and rely on my EYES to get kills, rather than red dots. Assassin users don't bother me one bit. Sounds like you are just a little scrub cry baby.

        Assassin is my favorite Perk. My clan and I only play Hardcore so it's a necessary perk IMO. Us Hardcore players don't have a permanent mini map, so we do rely a lot on visuals. We also rely heavily on our hearing. Shots fired, explosives, footsteps, and even magazine changes can all be heard and that's how we know where people are.

          Assassin is necessary in HC b/c you'll run across clans that all they do is spam UAV's and BV's, over and over and over and over.....

           

          Definitely necessary when they are putting up 2-3 UAV's every minute.  All I play is HC and I find these clan the most annoying.  Like they have no skill and must rely on a mini-map in order to kill.  I think half of the fun of HC is NOT knowing where your enemy is coming from.  Like you said, you really have to rely on your other senses.

            Agreed....I see clans do this all the time during HC Clan Ops. I assume these UAV spammers are clans that usually only play core and cannot live without their mini map. I rarely come across whole clans, on a normal non-clan op day, that spams UAVs like that.

            Some people in my clan run setups like that, but I hate BV. I won't destroy theirs, but I do not use them either. I think I have one support with UAV/CUAV/SAM, but the rest are assualt or specialist.

             

            Well, I did before I prestiged. I haven't set my 10 classes back up yet or unlocked much since I'm only about level 5 right now.

             

            As for the AK, I like it on small to medium maps. I don't have a lot of luck on long distance shots with it. It's sort of like a smaller LMG.

    The AK is my 2nd most used gun in mw3, next to the ACR which has a couple of hundred more I think, so I have alot of experience with it. I hear a lot of people commenting on its difficulty to use, and I do understand why as the visual bounce is quite strong. I tend to use a similar class set up to young buck, always have. I tend to run sleight of hand and stalker instead. I also utilise radar at choke points.

     

    As for it being pretty weak, I would disagree with anyone saying that. At times it can seem inconsistent, but I partly put that down to the game more than the gun. My KD with the AK is lower than with most of the other ARs I use, but I don't think that reflects its performance, as I tend to use killstreaks with the AK, and specialist package with the other ARs for some reason.

     

    Also, the AK looks sweet in gold, had mine gold a few times over the prestiges. worth the effort to get.

     

    Not a fan of the tube, not really been an avid user of the pro pipe in any cod game. But I will use it to complete the challenges. Find it frustrating as hell as I never seem to get a one hit kill even when landing at the enemies feet. Drives me daft as I get OHKd all the time by them.

    Loev the AK!!!   AK all the way!!!   Just unlocked it with a token a couple of prestiges ago, but it is definitely my favorite AR to use.  In HC is has so much stopping power, I get OHK from it sometimes.  I really only run it with Kick though, it bounces all over the place w/o it.

    I've always liked using the AK-47, and for me it's one of the best performing assault rifles in MW3.

    My most successful setup with the AK47 is kick with suppressor.  This gun's power is amazing.  Sometime's I like to just use the red dot sight with kick, because I kind of dislike the iron sights.  In addition, I also love the sound of this gun without the suppressor.

    I have yet to fire this gun in over 100hrs or so played lol.. Think I'll finally give it a.....shot.  Looks decent enough but oddly I don't see it used a lot in the games I play in.

    The AK47 isn't weak, per se, but it's outclassed by the ACR and G36C, simply due to the slower fire rate and more unpredictable recoil. I was thinking it should probably get more body multipliers along with the CM901, so they'd be more useful.

     

    Also, noob tubes in this game are more like pro pipes because of the 1.4M blast radius... don't feel bad.

      I always get hate mail when I use the noob tube I only use it for challenges...it actually kind of sucks, I rarely get OHKs with it, even in HC! this game was one of the few times I actually got kills with that dumb thing! LMAO
