Only problem is when the batteries begin to die, and if you have to many wireless devices nearby where interference may occur. Otherwise no lag in sound to worry about.

pardon my possible ignorance on this issue but isn't 7.1 surround kind of useless for the xbox as it's not supported... so like you are only getting the 5.1 or whatever it is that xbox does support?

You can get simulated 7.1 sound though.
As well as you would be prepared for the NEXT Xbox as well.
as well as the xbox does have a digital sound setting but I have never tried 7.1 on the xbox yet.
I do admit my Blu Ray played sounds better than xbox when playing DVDs so it MAY suck on the xbox.
BTW I would go wireless with Energizer rechargables as well as an Energizer Recharge Box. The rechrging box I got does 8 Doubles A's at the same time and does other types too. It was only 15 bucks. Have used the batteries for at least 2 years without needing replacements.

I haven't noticed a difference. I had a few pairs of TB and they both seemed OK wirelessly, with occasional popping or other interference but not a big issue. Both broke, so I tried Tritton this time, very happy with my wired Detonators. Excellent sound. Only interference I get is if my cell phone is nearby, then I get some feedback.
As for that6uy... I found contradicting info about it supporting 7.1, not sure what the answer is. The X41s for TB are 7.1.... My recommendation to the OP is to get the 7.1 if you have a choice. When the new consoles eventually come out they will definitely support it, and you will be ready. Plus, better for watching movies. If you get one that works with multiple systems, then you are golden.

I had the X31s, then updated to the X41s and finally got tired of all the interference I had. Your prob not set up like mine, but my game room is two computers, xbox, router, wireless laptop, wireless tv, so I had the interference. Went with what I seem to find they dont sell anymore which is the DX11, and according to all the specs and there website there wired 7.1's. Work great here, amazing sound, but if I had any other option I would go wireless.

Wireless X41s only get interference from your wifi network/router sometimes, usually when the batts are low in your controller or headset...
Apart from this rare occurance, wireless are far superior in terms of functionality and practicality...
XP500s can be fully wireless or you can hard wire the Chat lead to your controller if you don't like the Bluetooth buzz...
PX5s are OK...
The newest Turtle Beach are the "Sevens" which have replaced Astros for the MLG Pro tournaments...
My X41s have performed brilliantly for several years now, and I would recommend them over and above anything else other than the Newer Turtle Beach flagship models...
