I love the Wii but I am starting to think that I should ask my wife for an XBox for Father's Day. Thoughts?
I've been thinking the same but I don't want to pay for online even though theres loads of people I actually know that have Xbox, I'd probably go with PS3 if I did switch
You have to pay to play with XBox? Really?
Yes...but it's only 60 bucks a year. If you get lucky then you might get a hold of someone who can give you a discount. I only payed like 35 bucks for my kids account when I renewed it.

You have to pay to play on Xbox live, aka online services
If i was you I would ask for a PS3
With PS3 you can pay for annual subscription of Playstation Plus and get a bunch of free games every month. It's more worth it than the pay to play Xbox subscription. that's my opinion anyways
plus, it doubles as a bluray player and doesn't have a red ring ![]()
Well it depends. The Xbox 360 is slowly getting "old", if you want an xbox 720, you can wait 2-3 years ![]()
But in my opinion could an xbox 360 be too expensive for a father's day gift? Just my opinion though.
And I heard you're a teacher; any tips on how to become one
? I'm currently completing a minor in criminology, a major in psychology, and a bachelor's in educational leadership. Any tips would help a lot ![]()
I graduated from the University of MD with a Sociology degree= worthless and a minor in criminal justice. I was a bar manager in DC and someone told me I would be a great teacher. I got an "in" from a great friend and started taking classes and got my Master's in Education. If you are young and HS start talking to your counselor to find out what you need to be to be a teacher. If I could go back I would become a PE teacher. You get paid to work out. Nothing is better than that! It is the best job in the world. Very rewarding and who else gets summers off, Spring Break and Winter Break? I hope this helps.
I've been told PS3 is cheaper and better, especially having to pay for Xbox's online. Also (supposedly) the new Xbox will come out a year before the new Playstation giving more playing time out of the PS3.
Build an awesome PC, or buy an Alienware smooth laptop!!...BF3 Premium is here baby!!!!
Father's day is overrated. I mean, most people were made fathers and mothers because companies don't properly test their products.
Tested on amoeba.
I understand the marketing aspect but anyone can be a "father" all it takes is a few thrust. Not everyone can be a great Dad.
Make a onlive account for PC
Good titles such as Saints Row, Just Cause, Assassins Creed and Homefront. Best part you don't download anything but the launcher. You play all the games from the server.
damn forum magic somehow didn't post my comment.....well....i'll write it again
^what fissure said
Playing real, enjoyable and enterntaining games is so much better than playing a game made for children. Its a real eye opener. I looked for CoD in onlive(because even though I think most CoDs suck, I still love W@W..not on wii though
), but to no avail. I looked at all the sections I thought CoD would be listed under....Arcade...Children's...and Casual. But I couldn't find it. But to be honest...who wants to play CoD when Just Cause 2 and Batman Arkham City are sitting nearby?
I got an xbox in march. The only reason I chose XBox is for the family friendly games for my young kids (kinect ) .
My best advice, do the research, find what matters to you, and just get the console that fits your need/wants. The console pundits are no better than the political ones.
If you end up on the xbox, pm me for my gamertag. I will pay some matches with ya, or spec ops, etc... that is, when my kids let me play... LOL
Whatever floats yer boat. If you want to get an Xbox, go for it! If you want a PS3, go for it! Heck, if you want a Nintendo 64, go for it! It's your choice after all.
Ps3 bro, you'll save a lot more money.
There's also a fancy thing called "Game share" on ps3.
ps3 has awesome graphics and is awesome
To get awesome graphics, you must use the right types of cables.
Otherwise, graphics look like the chinese ps1.
Most people don't know about it, so when they say "oMgzz ps3 graphics are SOOOO coolz" i laugh my as* off. Obviously, i show them the right cable, and when they see the true power of the PS3(which is not shown by cod....CoD graphics look like MS paint
), they faint.
@Teacher, you are reading my mind. I thinking will go the Xbox route. One of the neighbor kids has an Xbox I tried a match of survival and it was quite easy. The design of the controller just fits your hand and seems natural for a dual analog.
Well it all depends in games that you are going to buy, if you like games that are only coming for xbox 360 then get that but if you really hate having to pay $50 bucks for online or no games coming exclusively for 360 motivates you get a ps3, probably the new one its coming out in 1 year and a half or two and ps4 a bit more but the controller of xbox its so nice for a dual analog and the online its pretty good if you get xbox add me (:
Ps3- free online service meaning cheaper! But if you like certain games but are only exclusive for xbox well then you will have to be able to spend more money for the xbox then.
I've tried both systems though i dont really notice a difference though im bet there is one XD but yeah if you really want that exclusive game for xbox go for it!
All i have to say is get ps3 !
and isn't fathers day is when your children suprise you and your wife as well
its not christmas jk XD
Don't forget, there are also tons of PS3 exclusive games out also: inFamous, Little Big Planet 1 & 2 (fun to play with kids), God of War, Uncharted, Killzone, etc.
Go ps3 all the way.
