Quickscoping is not a crime don't treat it as such

So there is a whole lot of talk about people wanting to remove quickscoping completely from the game or switch it to it's own seperate game mode. First off that is impossible because there is no way in which to to disallow someone to zoom in all the way with their sniper rifle and if there was, I am sure as hell the developers would not want to waste their time doing that.


Let's talk about the reason why people do NOT like quick scoping

 

1. It humiliates them, getting killed by one shot isn't exactly fun.

2. They believe it has an unfair advantage over their gun because they got killed.

3. They are not using the exact same gun they are (that supposedly has the balanced amount of skill required for a gun) and not standing right in front of them in a fair 1 on 1 battle.

 

Now let me tell you why you're WRONG

 

Balance in a game does not come by taking variety out

Balance comes to a game through making available a larger variety of gameplay styles appeal to more players.

HONESTLY

If you think that quick scoping has a competitive edge over any other weapon in the game you are just mistaken my friend.

 

First off, HIT MARKERS.

In normal game mode I get so many hit markers with a bolt-action sniper rifle it's not even funny. However on the other hand, the semi automatic Barret 50. Cal does more damage than the L118 or MSR.

 

Personally I hope to see them change it in the upcoming BO2 so that bolt action sniper rifles do more damage... just because that makes sense to me.

 

Second off, YOU HAVE A GUN TOO AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO USE THE SAME ONE

Just because you die from something you do not automatically earn the credible judgement to deem whether it should be removed from gameplay or not. You can use the exact same weapons (which would not be a good choice if you're facing a quickscoper) because you will find that it is much harder than you think to quickscope.

 

THE REASON BEHIND WHY I QUICKSCOPE

I quickscope only because I like to make videos. I think it looks sexy as **** when I quickscope/throwing knife someone across the map. If I ever wanted an advantage over other players I would put on a SMG or Assault Rifle.

    I agree, quickscoping should stay. Snipers are useless/unbalanced without it and BO1 proved that.

    Quickscoping is not sniping.

     

    One of my definitions: Sniping is the art of picking off  a target or multiple targets from long range. That is why you have a scope: To see people at farther distan

     

    Edit: The definition below was taken from Urbandictionary.com, it explains it pretty well. I would have used my own definition and thoughts but I am getting so sick of repeating my opinion about quickscoping over and over again.

     

    Quickscoping- people that will use a sniper rifle, but instead of aiming down the scope like sniper rifles were made for, they exploit a feature and shoot when the crosshairs meet, resulting in a one hit kill, despite the fact a majority of the time the cross hairs miss the target. Then when when somebody uses a sniper rifle for what it was meant for and look down the scope, the people who quickscope yell at the player who looked down the scope and call them a "hardscoper".

    I hope they keep it the way they did in Black Ops where you have to correct a little bit before shooting. The people who can QS in Black Ops I have total respect for, because it takes skill to get kills. I never whine or ***** when I get QS'd in Black Ops because I know it's not an easy thing to do. MW3 on the other hand....

    'quickscoping' (in BLACK OPS) shouldn't be considered as an exploit. in real life if someone has a sniper rifle and there's a guy right in front of him he should be able to 'hip-fire' and kill the person instead of having the bullet fly in a complete illogical direction like in COD. snipers are made from scoping in, i understand that and most people who quickscope also use it, but when in close quarters it is always recommended to learn how to quickscope.

    i only learned how to quickscope so i wouldnt be completely useless when out of ammo and only finding me to having to pick up a random sniper, turns out it can also be fun.

    people who are against it are usually the people that cant do it themselves. its not that easy, it took me a few hours, but it can be very useful.

    In MW3 on the other hand, quickscoping is a joke. i picked up a sniper and in a matter of seconds i got the hang of it (and i only knew how to quickscope in black ops). its so easy a caveman can do it!

    I don't mind Quickscoping at all, but when people somehow persuade others to do a a Quickscope match in a public S+D game, and you must be required to use a sniper or you getting abused for it lol. it get's abit stupid

    Yep... It's...

     

    ... a travesty.

    ... an insult.

    ... an exploit.

    ... contemptible.

    ... repugnant.

    ... a disgrace.

    ... despicable.

    ... contemptuous.

    ... not worth talking about ever again.

     

    But it's not a crime in MW3 since the jackasses put it in the game.
