Changes that I can see coming to multiplayer

Posted by destroyer_118118 on May 31, 2012 11:02 AM

So, now is the time that we love to start speculating  about everything CoD, so now is the time for me to think about multiplayer details. I reckon that they will be changing the pro perks, and how they work. As stated in the original multiplayer leak(the second one was confirmed to be garbage by Vonderhaar), I think that there will be two different perk choices that you can have, but you can only have one at a time, so long term choice come sin, which I think is something that they could expand on. Also, customising the order that you unlock things in I think is a big part. Black Ops took a step in the right direction with CoD points, but this system needs to be improved. When you level up, you should be told that you can buy a piece of equipment, for example, and then you can buy any of them, but they are all priced based on their usefulness. This would work for everything, so you can unlock things in teh order you want, but need to level up in order to do so, so that both CoD points feel more useful, and so does levelling. Another change that I was thinking of would be to scrap XP completely, and this would work complimentarily with the previous idea. Rather than levelling up with XP, you would buy the next level with CoD points. This means that CoD points are more meaningful, and there is more strategy to levelling up, which I think is great. These ideas mean that levelling up means more than BO 1, and so do CoD points. I think that MW3 got the concept for a new attachment system right, but could be implemented better. Weapon levels should be kept the same, and XP is earned for this. However, the choice concept that I suggested should be incorporated. So rather than being told the order that you unlock things in, you should be able to choose what attachment that you buy when you first earn one, and the same should go for camos. However, Gold camo should not be able to be bought until the final level, and it would cost 50000 cod points, so saving is required. Again, I thinkt hat this works complimentarily with the other ideas. Perks-these are one of the most complained about things in CoD multiplayer, but they should stay. However, Treyarch have been talking about competitive gaming, and how perks are essentially cheat codes. So, I think that there will be four main playlists: Casual, Competitive, Hardcore, and Community. The community playlist works like it does in MW3, with private match game modes that are for fun, but they shouldn't count for anything. I don't want to earn some of these challenges, since it feels that I have earned them really cheaply, which annoys me. For example, the 'survive for 5 mins' challenge in MW3 can be earned very easily in Infection, so community playlist earns nothing, and is simply for fun. Wager match game modes are included, but do not require wagers. Hardcore will be improved, as also stated in the first leak, with optimisations to reduce douchebaggery. Casual will be like we know CoD now(with improvements, obviously), and competitive will be for competitive play. There are no perks or killstreaks, and is purely gun on gun gameplay. There will be added game modes, that require a full party, for example, or for people who are  a certain prestige only, and then some other new modes. The titles system from MW3 should return, and so should the emblem system, but these should be optimised for customisation, so certain parts need to be earned, but can be put together like in Black Ops. There should be more than this added, but these are the suggestions that I would like to give right now. Please leave your thoughts on this below, and thanks for reading!
