To those who are competitive.

I've always wondered why call of duty has lacked a ranked system. Gamebattles is nice but everyone knows if you are not a paying member, you cant take it seriously.

It wouldn't be hard especially now with elite to incorporate a system for those who want to be competitive. We can have singles, doubles, and full teams. All it would take is a special competitive playlist for each type. Create a simple ranking system that many other games already use. You win a game you get 10 points, you lose a game you lose 10 points. You get matched up against other like ranked teams.

Of couse none of this is possible if they can't manage to keep the game fair in terms of matchmaking and lag comp. But if that was ironed out a system like this would be extremely entertaining and good for the game if they are pushing cod into a more competitive field.

The problem here is that when you start ogranizing people based upon "skill" or whatever, you limit the number of options the game has for connecting in terms of connection quality.

However, that's not to say that these options won't exist somehow. Vahn has stated that he's very interested in supporting the whole "Esports" scene, so it's very likely we'll see some features for the competitive gamers who like to play on sites like GB.

Well, when you're playing in a Private Match, you usually have some control over who is hosting. That's where the difference lies. You can choose to have the player with the best connection host, as opposed to the game randomly deciding.

Until COD has a decent matchmaking system which is close to perfection for connectivity, I don't think we'll ever see a ranked/skilled/competitive matchmaking system.

I'd like to see a ranked matchmaking system but not until we see a better matchmaking system based on connectivity. (to allow fair matches)

Hello all my Veteran Comrades. All these are valid points and ides. By now you would truly think they would have ironed out and seriously looked into these situations that you guys have proposed and brought to light again. Hopefully Vahn will read and pay some attention to the core aspects of a game running online and not just things that will trick the WEAK minded and children.

I always figured the reason there isn't a better ranked system for competition is because of how easy it is to manipulate something like that in CoD.

When you have the kids who spawn trap in Demo, or killwhore in any other objective game mode, that defeats the purpose of any 'trueskill' system.

Same goes for wins and losses, it's easy to manipulate.

You could go by SPM, but with various modes offering different score systems, you'd need a second playlist for nearly every game mode. As you can see, things start to get messy at this point.
