I don't care what people call it, Camping is Camping.

I've seen countless Machinima Respawn videos, and countless commentator videos of their scores going 82-3 or 24-1 or something like that, and they will use every term under the book. "Tactically holding down" "Defending an Area" "Its not campy" etc. But lets just call it what it really is, camping.
Now there is a difference between camping and preparing. For instance if I see someone running down a hallway on my radar, I will aim my sights at the door wating for him to come sprinting through so I can shoot him, thats not camping. I see it in MOAB videos all the time of people holding up in one little room and they have their portable radars in all of the doorways. Thats camping.
Staying in one area the entire game is camping, I don't care what you call it. You don't have to aim your sights down a hallway for it to be called camping. If you are held up in one area for the entire game it is camping, I don't care if you are trying to get a MOAB. You camped.
Defending a flag or a domination point is borderline camping. Being in a spot where the enemy had a clear chance to fight you is not camping, hiding behind the car and giving yourself only a fraction of viewing angle so the enemy couldnt hit you at all...thats camping.
I'm just so tired of seeing people defend camping, and beating around the bush of what they are really doing. I don't camp one bit. My KDR is .83 because I have fun when I play this game, and I also love to play Infection. My Blops KDR was around 1.27 when I quit, and I didn't camp on that either. I don't care about going 2949-2 either, its not true skill.
Just some thoughts.
Edit: Basically for anybody confused. If you stay in one paticular area of the map for the entire game, you are a camper. I'm not telling people they should rush all over the map all the time. But like people who hold up in those buildings on Seatown and purposly chill in the stairway and shoot anybody who tries to come up it, etc. are camping. They are easy to take out but it is still camping. Taking your time around the maps and checking things out is perfectly ok, as long as you do not hold up in one building the entire game. A game perfect for camping is Infected. I hate playing Domination and seeing people simply camp the flags instead of playing the objective.
I firmly believe that camping only exists in TDM, FFA and KC.
Guarding flags or bombs is called defending. Defending is that concept that CoD players have completely forgotten exists.
I somewhat agree. Guarding Flags and Bombs is defending, but not when you make an unfair advantage to the other team (Controlling Spawns, Spawn Killing, etc.)
When I defend flags in Domination I am moving around and checking my corners, not just hiding behind a box with my sights aimed down.
I hover around the flag/bomb(s) in question, I don't "control spawns". Playing solo CTF I end up at our flag for 90 percent of the game. My thing is "they can't win if they can't cap our flag and they can't cap our flag if they can't grab our flag". I win more games than lose with this mentality, but I also catch a lot of "camper" hate for it.
Moltza is the type of user that makes me hate the internet btw.
of topic, but, eh, thats what i like about the recon drone. if i got a camper who is REALLY pissing me off, i recon drone and paint the dude, knowing that my entire clan will go after em!
I dont see anything wrong with it if you patrol a certain area. Sitting in one spot and never moving at all yea that may be a little excessive but if your in a choke point looking 3 ways moving around a little bit to see all the different routes thats a little different even though you may be only moving in a 20 ft circle. To me this is just smart game play. Do you think its more realistic to play like this or to run around with duel wield smg's chasing an enemy or running around with a sniper rifle and quick scoping? people get mad they get over it. Maybe if they ever release the update to matchmaking if might make people play a little different but when its obvious one team has a huge connection/sync lag advantage then you gotta do whatever it takes to kill the bast3rds.
Camping is a tactic. I prefer not too. But I don't care who does it. I love killing campers.
Well.....i rush camp.
rush up..stop get a kill or 3...rinse and repeat...im always the highest in most time sprinting.
I played a TDM and went 27-2. I got the MVP accolade and sat in one spot the whole time. Why? because it worked damn well. It was an obvious location, I wasn't hiding or trying to hide. You can call me a camper but when if it works then why shouldn't I do it?
Agreed sir...you can play anyway you choose, after all you bought this game.
the only camping type that bothers me....snipers! lmao!
god t hate hearing that KA POW sound...makes me stay out of the open,i tell you that!
