Hype

Posted by Steve2589 on May 5, 2012 5:29 AM

It's only just been announced this week but already there is more positive hype for Black Ops 2 then there was for MW3. What is it about this game that is making you excited for it? Is it the fact that they are trying something a little bit new or did you prefer Black Ops to MW3? Give us your thoughts

There's more hope because at the first start of Black Ops 2, all people saw was the trailer, they heard nothing about combat training, they didn't get to watch the interview with Mark about campaign and stuff, they were stuck with a 2 minute trailer and that's it.

It is not the fact they're doing something new I think it's the fact people just want to get away from MW3 lag. The more that is confirmed about Black Ops 2 the more positive replies the community has, for example, Combat Training was confirmed on twitter, 1,000s of people went 'omg no way I was hoping they'd at this!!!!' and that itself gave a boos to the hype.

Yeah, ever since Combat Training, Zombies were confirmed, and the campaign was explained (engine) people started getting excited because well, it does sound like a very great game. I'd love an open world Call of Duty, and I'd love to see how Treyarch does with developing vehicle driving ^.^

For me it's because I want something new. MW3 was not new. They made it seem like it was going to be but i really never got excited for it. Blackops2 has a different setting, has plunty of options they can go with to take the series into a new direction. This is 3arc's chance to take the lead in call of duty and they know it. So whatever they do they are coming at it at 100%.

They also know if they fail this may very well be the end of call of duty all together. Many of my friends are just sick of the same old call of duty, none bothered picking up Mw3 and those that did just took it back. We have played the same formula for too long.

The trailer just gives people hope that this will actually be a game worth it's price and wont be just a glorified 2.0 of the original.

Treyarch's a lucky company, for the most part. With CoD 4 they had great expectations placed on them, but with MW2 and MW3, people are going to be killing their friends just to get away from MW3's atrocious lag/lag compensation and for MW2, they wanted away from the unbalancedness.

And they have learned from their mistakes and been willing to experiment.

      COD3 was kinda crap.

WaW was solid (and the best version of SnD ever).

BO was great (best story hands down) and the second best overall title (IMO, of course).

BO2 once again has David Goyer helping with the writing so I have very high expectations for the story in the campaign.

Looking forward to hearing what is in MP before I start forming an opinion.

Wow, I'm not the only one who really loved WaW SnD? Woot!

Black Ops 2 seems like it will be a solid title, but I kinda don't want to even hear about IW's next project. Let's just stick to Black Ops for years.

Ya I went back to playing Black Ops because I hated MW3 so much.

Gotta say... I'm cringing at the thought of IW making the COD for the Next XBOX launch.

Just like all the past COD games. The present on is "crap" and "they cant wait until the next one comes along".

I think this is one of the primary reasons for the game getting more sales, because people are hoping once they open the case that Superman will come out and save the day. Then when he doesnt show they start all over again.

Kind of like the people waiting for Armageddon so that the Rapture will pull them up to heaven so they can get away from real life.

The past call of dutys haven't been crap, MW3 on the other hand was. No one is expecting a 'superman'. There are many reason why MW3 wasn't up to standards, for most people. Mostly for the fact most of the people involved in Cod4 and MW2 were gone and Mw3 was left to people who haven't really worked on it before. Mw3 was a pretty good game considering this but it just didn't have enough to keep it entertaining.

For me personally I really liked Black Ops, I'd go as far to say that it's my favorite game. Treyarch really impresses me as a developer as far as the support they gave it to, so for those reasons I'm totally stoked for Black Ops 2. I'm no loyalist either, if they put out a bad game I'll be the first to say it, but so far Treyarch hasn't given me a reason to be skeptical. I really think they'll deliver on this installment.

For me it's the fact that this is going to be something entirely new and that it's being made by Treyarch, who listen to their audience.

Its cause blops 2 is going to be something different for once, not the same old modern day or past.

While I own MW3 I haven't actually put it in the tray for over a month, I'm still enjoying Black Ops as my main game, hell my only game really right now.
