I know we all would have prefered it to be locked so we could reminisce, but we'll survive. Bomb posted a continuation of the thread on Jedi's Site so there really are no worries. It was the first and only epic thread to come out of the BO2OT, and even though longevity is prized in this forum, our only question should be "which awesome post will become famous next?"
Let's all try to come up with some new ideas for threads and we'll get out of this slump more quickly. Let me tell ya, I thought it was the end of the world when the mods axed the Slack Thread, but the thing is that truly great posts can never be deleted (figuratively, of course).

This seems to be a constant debate and struggle, but I'm simply not interested in it anymore. More times than not, the banter amongst the group rides the line of the Code of Conduct and the original OT crew became insular.
MY honest response: So you blamed a whole thread and done away with it due to a few members getting a little out of hand? Everything was settled in the end and all was good.
I know a bit about moderating as I have done it before at other notable gaming sites. A good moderator will clear up the mess between users and not blame a thread for stirring people up or delete the thread, especially one so large and popular within the community of whatever forum or sub forum.

Wasn't just that. Was the fact that countries were trivialized and stereotyping was embraced to some extent. The thread should have been pulled from the get go, but it was an oversight on our part.
You were a mod too? Cool. We do things differently. I've seen moderators for successful sites that I completely disagree with, but that's how they do things. Our standards of "good" are different.
Not every member was stereotyping. The thread was about a fictional Earth, it was not as if we were serious considering what the world would be like if we had purchased it.
That's fine though, we've made a new one anyway. Fun will be had!

Exactly. Well put.
EDIT: @ Foxy, while reading over the whole thread. I'm am positive you laughed several times at our shenanigans within the the thread. You are doing your job as a mod. There is not much we can do against your decision but please tell me you had a good laugh in some pages of the thread.

@Bomb - Yes, a fictional earth but with some real world implications. Have fun with your new thread.
@Machine - Yes, some content was funny, but we know how the story ends.
Last comment, those real world implications had been smoothed over when the thread was pulled.
The community saw a problem and resolved it, and continues to solve problems between its members. That's what friends do.
Goodnight everyone!
I guess from now on, we should put disclaimers in every RPG-type thread we make.
Weird, that was outstanding. We need more comments like this in the chat.
