Petition for Hard Drive Install for Black Ops II

Now is the time my friends to push for Black Ops II to have a hard drive install on the PS3. 

 

We've been pushing for this since MW2 and they have chosen to ignore our pleas so far.  Right now MW3 runs entirely from the Blu-Ray and I figure so far I have put well over 300 hours of needless wear and tear on my drive. When I'm playing MW3 I can actually hear other players Blu-Ray drives chirping away over my headset.  Xbox players are always given the option to install to hard drive so we are only asking for equal treatment here, nothing extra.

 

PLEASE sign in here and post if you agree, this could save your drive and your PS3 from breaking.

 

Also - PLEASE - Tweet @DavidVonderhaar (Game Design Director - Treyarch) - he is the man that can make this happen - while at Call of Duty XP last year I cornered him on the bus to the event and gave him my best sales pitch for the PS3 community with emphasis on the install option - he seemed receptive.

 

There is no use waiting until after the game is released and coming in here complaining - it has to be NOW.

 

If you want you can follow me on Twitter as well - I'm @RobsStang - Fourzerotwo dubbed me a "Call of Duty VIP" and I've tried to talk to every Dev I could about this issue and how PS3 COD players are every bit as fanatical about this game as Xboxers.

    Would beat the heck out of hearing a disk spinning inside your system all the time.

    What exactly are the pros and cons of saving it to HD instead of using blu ray

    I agree, I'd much rather install the game to my hard drive and save any needless wear and tear on my PS3 Blu-ray disc drive.

    Does anyone know if any petitions have worked, ever? Was there a quickscoping/anti-quickscoping one for Black Ops that worked?

    Well the obvious one is wear and tear on the Blu-Ray drive - PS3 is damn near bullet proof but most of the broken ones I've seen for sale say "won't read Blu-Rays" - laser is burned out and its not an easy fix. Call of Duty is not like other games that you play for 8-10 hours and never play again - right now I have 333 Hours on MW3 and that is a hell of alot of wear and tear on the drive for no reason - when I have a 250 GB HD just sitting there mostly empty.

     

    A hard drive has a higher data transfer rate - which should result in faster load times and smoother gameplay.

     

    In my opinion the constant BR drive access may generate extra heat insde the case of the PS3 which is always a bad thing.

     

    This really is a no brainer folks, I'd really like to see some more names signed in here so if the Dev's see it they might take it more seriously.

    I wonder if we'll get to interact with the mythical, nameless and faceless phantoms that are "The PS3 Dev Team" this year?

    This is highly needed. I am tired of hearing my console spinning in constant cooldown mode. We have adequate enough space to hold the info for this game.

     

    Glad to see you are still on duty about this.
