Black Ops 2 Open Beta

Lately, I've been hearing a lot of gossip about Call of Duty Black Ops 2 OPEN BETA. The only Call of Duty games to have an Open Beta was World at War and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, what an Open Beta is, you get to play the game, and it is to find bugs, glitches, and patch them for the actual release. Activison and Treyarch have only hosted Closed Betas, which means only Employees, etc. are able to play it and report the glitches and bugs, etc. that they find.

 

The good side of it is you will get to try Black Ops 2 early, and the more players there are more bugs, glitches, etc. will be found. This will help for the official release so you aren't stuck with a buggy game until a patch comes out, since they have only been hosting Closed Betas many glitches weren't found Modern Warfare 3, big mistake. Anyways, the gossip of an Open Beta has really been in my mind, what do you guys think? You guys think it's true?

 

I personally think an Open Beta would help people get a taste of the game, there are many features to Black Ops 2 that I know there will be bugs, I'd love to catch them and report them before everybody, including myself, have to live with it until a patch is released.

 

It will be months until an Open Beta is released, usually Betas are released prior to the official release, for example Diablo 3 beta was in late April I believe? It's being released May 15th, so don't expect an Open Beta soon, but I just hope this gossip is true, hopefully Treyarch can confirm if there is or isn't going to be an Open Beta.

 

What are your thoughts? Would you like an Open Beta? If they released an Open Beta chances are people are going to pre-order, even when nearby the official release, this could help several people and the game itself. According to people it has been confirmed there WILL BE a Black Ops 2 Open Beta, hopefully people enjoy it and Treyarch sales don't go down the drain from negative feedback. Any thoughts on the Open Beta, what do you want to see in the Open Beta? Multiplayer, Zombies?

    Honestly, every single year, we get the same line about "We don't need an open beta, we trust our Closed Beta.", and then every single year, the companies act like they were caught off guard and didn't expect all the issues.

     

    I say we nip it in the ass this time, and just have the open beta. Find the glitches and issues BEFORE the game releases, this way no one can act all surprised upon released.

    WAW had an open beta. I am 100% sure of it. I gave the codes to several of my friends.

    Sure, I would enjoy an open beta. I mean, I'm sure they play the heck out of the game to find the bugs and glitches themselves, but honestly, if all of the fans were to play the beta, there would be a greater chance to find more glitches, bugs, etc. Plus, we get to play early

     

    It's a win win.

    Yes, please Treyarc/activision. Cod has already given you millions, so return the favor and give it the fine tuning it deserves by releasing a beta where the public can test for bugs, exploits etc. We can have polls here on the forums etc. Maybe this can be the perfect cod?

    WAW had an open beta and it was far from perfect. It is very difficult for a developer to release a perfect game at release.

    I don't recall WaW having an Open Beta, even if so there's more CoDs than just WaW I'd love an Open Beta!

    I agree with you, any Open Beta would be GREAT I would definitely search for bugs far and wide! I want an Open Beta for Black Ops 2, this COULD be the best Call of Duty in the franchise yet!

    More the testers less the bugs ^.^ It would also make people want to play it even MORE if they enjoyed it! Just gotta watch for dem spoilers >.>
