Will the Russians be the enemies?

Posted by mythcell on May 2, 2012 5:41 PM

Russians have been the enemies in a lot of COD games, and I hope this one isn't one of them. Maybe for a change the Russians could be a big ally!

    No they aren't.

The game takes place in the future as drones and technology begin to take full shape in their role in our military. They are now the leaders of the armed forces with little actual man power doing the fighting.

With that said, there is also a "second cold war" going on if you will. But this time it isn't with Russia, it's with China. This Cold War is over Rare Earth metals. These kinds of metals are the ones that can be used to make weapons of mass destruction nukes), create nuclear power, be used for medical purposes and every day household appliances in very small quantities.

From what I have gathered, a hacker takes control of the army of Unmanned drones in the US military and unleashes them on the population. (Think 9/11, but thousands of times bigger.)

The plot supposedly has two intertwining story lines, one in the 80's and one in 2025. The 80's  line ties into the future story line basically by setting it up.

I'm not sure what role China plays in the story, but I'd bet that they will come into play eventually.

    Hope this helps

PS- I read all of this from an interview I found on youtube

Not Russians, China started a "Cold War" in 2025.
