True. It is something that keeps anticipating more news.
I'd really like to see the whole Perk System completely overhauled really. Take away the current system, and implement a new one that focuses on specialization. Include a few abilities, but incorporate those into the person's character itself.
What I mean by that is, instead of a perk system where we just select 3 perks and we're done, set it up so that the more we play a certain a way, the more our "perks" change to reflect that. For instance:
A player who utilizes Suppressors a lot, shoots enemies in the back, gets a lot of knife kills, and things like that will be able to earn "Abilities" that were originally perks that would aid in Stealth. Perks like Ghost/Assassin, Dead Silence, Extreme Conditioning. Things that would be tailored specifically to their play style.
From there, if they want to try to specialize in another kind of play, they can choose to reset their specialization, and build up to a new one, such as:
A player who utilizes Sniper Rifles a lot, and constantly engages enemies at longer ranges might unlock some extra perks and abilitie sfor their specialization such as Iron Lungs, Deep Impact, Scavenger, Thermal Scope/Bi-Pod, things like that. And again, they can choose to reset their specialization and try a new one.
That's the kind of system I'd like to see, as opposed to just a "take what you want" approach to the perk system.

I kinda dig this idea... mix it with how I want weapons to be and you get a real mix of RPG and FPS that would be fun to play for while.
i cant imagine why anyone would want to get rid of ALL the perks or even SOME of the killstreaks. my opinion is keep only the perks that are a fair deterrent to other perks/killstreaks and same with the killstreaks. example being if you're gonna give someone spy planes give the other guy the chance to deter with ghost. rapid fire on the other hand is simply unfair to others who aren't using it. you got pple using turtle beaches so give the enemy ninja. u got hacker vs claymores, tactical mask vs. flashes, etc.
ones that should go because they're unfair (just my opinion) rapid fire, scout, lightweight, hardline, marathon, second chance
marathon should go btw because sprint should be the same for everyone or just make it always unlimited

Well... there is no larger sacred cow than perks...
... and it wasn't too long ago there were 3 streaks. I actually prefer it.

Me too.
Read through yours a bit, and I kind of like it aswell. To me, it creates a uniquely crafted experience for each person. So with weapons and Perks being crafted to the way you play (and enough variety within that crafting), you'd see a huge variety even if evreryone tried to use the same weapon.
For instance, you might get 4 or 5 people all using the same gun, but that gun could be significantly different for each person, based upon that person's play style.
Similar with "perks", depending on how they do it. You could get a bunch of people with the same basic perk, but have that perk "evolve" to work differently for each person based upon their style of play.
wait you're saying you'd rather there be only 3 killstreaks? if that's what you're saying y? isnt more options more variety better? i would think so newayz

Puts a whole new spin on "There's a soldier in all of us." I think we're on to something.
I can hear people who don't play much whine that it's OP... to which i would say...
... play more.
