How about you stop avoiding the question. Why do you keep defending it? You have jumped on EVERY thread that has related this game to another game.
What they say now, and what it will be on release can and may be two different things. There is still plenty of time for them to make any changes they feel are needed or warranted. Either way, it is still Haloish, and BFish and even GRAWish except that one was a tps.
You are confusing the mission with the gameplay.
Maybe when you get a few more years under your belt, You'll understand how games work.
The gamemodes, gameplay, game engine, game graphics are completely different. Okay, you do the same in Transformers War for Cybertron, kill for points, and no you don't always kill - There is dominaton, there is demolition, there is Capture the Flag, there is Search and Destroy, you don't kill for points there bud. Halo is a complete different game in every way shape and form, except that you shoot, and for redneck, I'm defending it because it's the truth.
Ok so what of it then? Who gives a fuc*? We'll either play it or we won't and then another company will come along and pick up the leavins from when cod jumped the shark. The arcade shooter is established now and the formula that cod set is in stone for devs to rake in the cash if ever cod itself abandons it. That goes for any other game with success and the formulas that they revolve around. So at the end of the day we can either appreciate these games and their nuance around whatever established formula or we can sit around and bitc* about how obvious and tired and cliche they all are, or how they borrowed such and such from such and such and that makes it trash, yawn. Im looking forward to the new setting for cod though and I have confidence they aren't screwing it all up yet.
They said everything about multiplayer and single player, how it'll work what to expect, they cannot lie as seananners did pay to get a visit with Mark.
Also, Maybe you should research some of the military armor that is already out/in developement.
Some of it looks futuristic, So by your logic, Real life warfare must be like halo. In the sense that you run around and shoot people while wearing armor designed to effectively deflect a bullet.
And as for the arm pad thing that you didnt like, 5 years ago smart phones didn't even exist. Now almost every single phone is a smart phone/touch screen. Do you really think that in 13 years the military will be so underfunded that they can't afford a glorified ipod to wear?
Your intentionally ignoring the nuance and detail that was implied in order to advance the massive troll you have going with this thread. Dang it I just advanced it too. See, you guys are tricky.
I'm what? I seem to be the only person logically going about this. Anybody can throw out wild assumptions and point fingers, I did it when I was 5.
Ah but you see the forumla is not set in stone and never was. The game is meant to evolve and not just remain the same forever. That is where the problem of the gamers thinking comes in. The developers could change quite abit how the game works and it still would break records in sales because no know would know until release and so many fools and tools would be out getting their preorders.
Am I saying any of this is bad, not at all, and that is the issue here, Most of the replys are all defensive as if I have insulted some silly little pride or vanity of thers. My orginal topic is how the games are similar in look, and how they are progressing to be similar in play as time progresses.
CoD will not always stay rooted to the past or present time, eventually they will move beyond that and this is just the first step to see how much consumers are willing to let them go before crying too much about it.
Problem is too many here have to defend CoD, a game that is meant for fun and nothing more. They take the game too serious and forget it is nothing more than a way to waste time and pass the day away.
