World War 2 Era --> Modern Warfare = Huge success great NEW features.

Modern Warfare --> Future Warfare = New Features Success.

They took a chance but I think Treyarch knows what they are doing.

No, you're the only that one that is happy about it. Where will the franchise sit in another 5 years? Can't wait to storm the beaches of Mars with Schwarzenegger like in Total Recall. Bad idea.....

Actually most people are happy about it, just the whiny kids like you who are crying

i completely disagree!! i know that Call of Duty wont last forever! all good things come to an end!!  so looking in the future to see where the game will be in 5 years is stupid!  looking at this game NOW, it looks absolutly aweosme... we dont need to worry about what comes after, we arnt there yet and i am sure that even in 5 years their games will still be fricken amazing!

You're an idiot. Would you rather see 20 more games continuously going over the same eras? Yeah, let's make 10 games take place in WW2, and let's make 13 that takes place in the Cold War era, and let's go ahead and make 3 more games that take place 10 years from today.

Makes a ton of sense, right? Just because a few people want to, for some reason, stick to the past and not move forward, this doesn't mean what Treyarch is doing is a bad decision.

Modern warfare = current technology and its based on wat if the cold war with russia actually turned into a full blown war.

Bops 2 = first game to be based in the future with working current day prototype unmanned machines for the most part

Mixed feelings towards the game so far.

If multiplayer is still gun on gun with better than black ops graphics + good hit detection then im sold.

Trust me, you aren't the only one who sees it.

When I first heard about Blops2, I was so happy because it sounded amazing. CoD needed a comeback from MW3. Treyarch is sort of like an only hope for me.

When I saw the trailer, I knew that it was going to be awesome, and I loved it!

Btw, Lucas, stop talking bout Terminator, dammit!

I think that Treyarch had the right idea when they chose to set BO2 in a drone-filled future. Unmanned armies will almost certainly exist in the future, with our advancements in technology and such.

    And Woods is alive!

CoD needs a change of pace, and when it arrives, people complain. I think this is what the series needs.

I totally agree with you anoreo Treyarch are taking COD to the next level when i watched the reveal trailer i thought holy **** this looks like The Terminator game i played. But it looks better a nice futuristic mix of man against machine which is what made the terminator movies so popular. After the failure of MW3 online play Treyarch are going to have to be very careful that they test this game in a real world environment, not on 2 computers in the same building but on different floors. I really hope they put alot of effort into matchmaking testing and netcoding i do not want to buy another failure like MW3 . I am trusting them on previous efforts they seem to have made better games then the current Infinity Award  staff. I am not knocking the Original Infinity Award but the tools that work their now could not go to the toilet without peeing on their own  feet.

I think this has been well planned by activision just take a look at the big FPS hitters this year and you will notice that alot are future FPS with Halo, Ghost Recon, Crysis 3 and Respawns game(Old IW team) and i think they thought we could basically kill some of these franchises off or at least reduce their buget for their next game leaving COD a free run at the market for years to come.

Another aspect is i gloss over activision shareholders meeting hoping for some juicy COD gossip and one of the big things they talk about is growth, now how many people who enjoy WW2 - Modern era shooters have played COD = basically most people leaving no room for growth now they go futuristic and a whole other audience opens up for them which = growth. I remember a few years back activision were registering websites that had stuff like future warfare etc so they clearly have been thinking about this for a while and boy did they pick the right year to do it.
