Anybody else lose hope for Black Ops 2?

After watching the big release of Call of Duty Black Ops trailer, I saw quite a few things that I'm excited for, and things that I am not excited for.

 

If you go into details you get to fly a jet as it looks like, or you get to be the gunner. It looks like you are flying it, which is one thing I'd like to see. But the storyline, U.S. weapons being used against us? That's a creative topic but not for a Call of Duty game, the weapons look futuristic but more like Crysis. I was really hoping they would not go overboard, but honestly... In 13 years chances are we won't have things like that. I think it's just a bit overboad for a Call of Duty game. They multiplayer better pay off for the campaign storyline.

 

I also enjoy that Woods is still alive, I already knew he would still be alive after Black Ops 1, but now I know for sure. The game graphics as shown look the same, I've seen better but the graphics from Treyarch have been the same for WaW and Black Ops 1. I pre-ordered, of course, but I don't have real high hopes until I can see some shooting gameplay, hopefully they release a gameplay trailer that shows the FPS shooting, I'd like to see if the guns in the correct view look cool.

 

Anybody else also notice the dislikes, and do you guys who read this agree with me? I was hoping for a less futuristic game, and I don't know how a 70 year old man is going to fight in a war, but I'm assuming he will!

 

The hints were good and all but they were all in the trailer and all questions about them were answered, there are still more hints to go and most likely a new trailer or 2, but for now, I have low hopes and expectations for this until I can see a multiplayer trailer or some gameplay in FPS. I'm looking forward for new hints as well, they should definitely add more than those, if they only expect to fill in the 'classified' bubbles it won't last until November.

    Call of Duty is turning out to look like Halo and Mass Effect, tisk tisk.

    ugh im getting pissed at people like you. its not year 2050 its not year 6000 okay!!!! mass effect is nothing like cod why because mass effect is like 500 years away form existence while blackops 2 is couple decade. proof! well one of the planes in the vid has already been releaed as a prototype watch fpsrussia and get a life

    Woods is in no condition to fight. He's too old. The only way I can see him fight is by controlling an unmaned bot.

    The way the guns and vehicles looked in the trailer looks a lot like technology in Mass Effect, yes, and I said we won't have things like that in 13 years (it's based in 2025), and it's not a plane it's a Quad Rotor, and there are hardly any in existance as is, they are still being tested and made. The guns and vehicles, weaponry, etc. Look a bit too futuristic, I'm not trying to be rude or anything I'm just saying this is not an average Call of Duty game, Treyarch has been trying to make things different but by making this game have completely new guns and vehicles, maybe even the fact to fly them. Is a little to overboard for Call of Duty, if they wanted to do that they should've went step by step.

    Haha I agree with you, he's around 70, somewhere around there. But there are 50-60 year olds that still fight in wars today. Don't forget it's a video game so chances are he probably will fight. Woods is a really awesome character, and I do have a little hope with that part. I enjoyed Woods in Black Ops 1, he was sort of.... Like the terminator, nothing can kill him ^.^

    Black ops ended in the year 1968 , this game is in 2025.... thats a 57 year gap... woods was at least 35 in the black ops campaign that makes him in his 90s.......I dont think he will be in the actuall game unless its flash backs he might be just to Hype up the game..

    (Also not to mention the fact that he had oxygen support on the back of his wheel chair , hell maybe he even lost his legs in the grenade explosion)

     

    So far im not liking it to be honest all these people are saying "Stop complaining" blah blah .... when they are the ones what made it like this by complaining about the original Black ops when there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. This game seems to unrealistic i gaurantee this game will upset many of the CoD fans as the main reason i and alot of people got into the series was due to its unique semi- realism.... This stuff is going a bit too far..

     

    Theres a hell of alot of other wars to cover hell they could have even done something on the assasination of Osama ... but i was really looking forward to an old school Nam , WW2 , Korean war or gulf war game you know? Theres too many developers stringing along with modern ****. These drones and stuff are all going to be in the new Ghost Recon, the tank with legs just seems so stupid/ pointless.

    I am sure he can jump in his "mech warrior" suit and fire his laser cannon at super jumping, low gravity opponents.

    As long as SP is very different from MP I'm happy with the game.

     

    Let's be honest, we know NOTHING about MP yet.

    Me too man! I enjoyed the creepyness and mysteriousness to Black Ops 1, the brainwashing, the numbers repeating. The fact you were looking at re-made history was satisfying! I wanted it to take place before 2000 and have Woods, Mason, etc. I wanted to have something to do with the numbers again, I wanted a story as if the numbers were being used to brainwash people and sabotage plans, etc.!

     

    The drones and stuff went overboard, and Treyarch is not great at making modern games. The guns are too far in the future to be in 2025, and the fact some of the technology shown seemed like it won't be around for 10s of years. Ghost Recon was a dumb game in my opinion, and if watched the videos in the interactive, they talked about camoflage, robots, etc. Really stupid.

     

    It's going to effect Call of Duty players because Modern Warfare had todays AC130, Reapers, etc. But now we are dealing with drones, invisibility, futuristic guns. I mean come on Treyarch? Woods was not that old in Black Ops, he was maybe in his late 20s, I would say he's around 70-80, it also looks like him on the cover of Black Ops 2, I personally think this game won't go far and people will come running back to Modern Warfare 3, then they won't like that and go back to Black Ops 1. I think Black Ops 1 was the ending of the Call of Duty series.

     

    OH, AND IT MOST LIKELY IS FLASH BACKS. Black Ops 1 was only flash backs, and if he was already talking about 'what if you gave the enemies the keys', and if you watch the trailer closely he has black hair. It's going to be flash backs most likely. Maybe when he's around 40 or 50, this game might have some hope depending on the trailers and hints that are still being revealed!
