How to make my email private?

This probably dosent help, but I dont want others knowing my email. when I hover over their name, it says private, but when I hover over mine it says my email. Now is there a way to change that, or is it not visible to others, only me?

IT says private to everyone but you...no need to do anything...I was confused about this also when i started this account ..but your good
