A compromise for the dead silence-sitrep pro debate

How about: Sitrep pro cancels out dead silence in every gamemode BUT search and destroy. In SnD, nothing should counter dead silence, the way it is right now. So there you have it. That's the best compromise I can come up with. BOTH SIDES WIN. Remember, without compromises, you will never get anywhere if there is equal opposition. I get to keep my stealth in Search and Destroy, but I have to gve up my silent foot steps in other gamemode. I currently like it the way it is, but there are so much whiny corner campers out there that need to sound whore to get kills. The best way, is the way it already is. I've already debated this so many times, so I'm not going to get into it again. NOTHING SHOULD COUNTER DEAD SILENCE (there is no need for it to be countered. And don't pull the "theoretically everything should have a counter for balance" annoying crap),BUT IF THERE IS GOING TO BE CHANGES, USE THE SUGGESTION ABOVE. THANKS.

Some scrub needs to be 100% silent it seems. Let me guess, you use Assasin with Dead Silence, right?
nope, I use quick draw with dead silence. I do not camp, rush. Dead silence caters to rushers, not campers! If I was camping, I would not need dead silence. SOME SCRUBS JUST NEED TO SOUND WHORE.

I wouldn't need to "sound whore" if scrubs weren't using a SENSORY DEPRIVATION perk.

That's funny, because last time I "sound whored" people, I was rushing and constantly trying to flank the enemy because I was more aware of where they were located.

Oh man, you don't wanna know. Whenever this discussion comes up-on any mw3 forum, it can last for days and things get really heated. So I decided to come up with this compromise to settle the debate.

I have been around for a good while and have never seen a dead silence-sitrep debate.
It should negate Dead Silence in every game mode. The way it should work is that if you have Sit Rep Pro, people with Dead Silence make the same amount of noise as they would if you both weren't using either perk. People without Dead Silence footsteps should be amplified like they already are.
And we have a winner. There is no reason Sit Rep Pro should not counter dead silence pro in any gametype or situation.
The only problem with that is that then there would need to be something to counter sit rep.

Something called crouching. You give up mobility for stealth.
What I mean as of right now there is no counter to what sit rep does. So if you are going to make sit rep counter dead silence then dead silence should take the sit rep ability away when close......otherwise that is what we like to call as unbalanced.
What part of sit rep? The anti dead silence or the actual sit rep
actual sit rep. If you want to have a counter to one per you need to have a counter to the others too for balance. All these perks have no counter:
Bind Eye
Extreme Conditioning
Slight of Hand
Recon
Scavenger
Quick Draw
Blast Shield
Hardline
Assassin
Overkill
Marksmen Pro
Stalker
Sit Rep
Stead Aim
Dead Silence
That is every perk in the game that has no counter to it........and it is also every perk. If you want to start making one perk counter another then they all need to be that way.
Well I don't think we would need a counter to every one. But they way Sit Rep Pro and Dead silence are set up I can see why they should completely counter each other. If someone has Dead Silence then his equipment doesn't show up to anyone with Sit Rep Pro.
While they do have no absolute direct counters a lot of them do have counters that reduce the effectiveness of that perk, essentially being somewhat of a counter.
This is true. The counter to Dead silence is that you lose the ability to see explosives or any other third perk.
There's nothing to counter Recon either. Dead Silence reduces the effects of Recon, much like in my example where it would reduce the effectiveness of Sit Rep Pro.

Omg, if you studied it, you'd realize that compromising got them closer than any of it (i.e. popular sovereignty), but unfortunately it was the one-sided positioners like you that lead to war. There have been plenty of times in history where compromises have been the solution. And by the way,the only solution to the issue of slavery back then, would've been compromising until both sides settled. Try again.

What exactly is your compromise? To make it so that it counters it in every game mode except for the one you probably exclusively play?
You need to calm down.
And while it doesn't fully counter it, it still gives you the benefit of more quiet footsteps. If it wasn't balanced at all then you would make just as much noise as the guy using Steady Aim. It's just like what Dead Silence does to Recon. It doesn't fully prevent it, but if you're using it, you're still at an advantage over not using it.
Listen, I've heard everything about this debate, and both sides bring SPECTACULAR points. You have to look at it *intensely* from both sides. People won't ever give up their position on this topic, because they hold very great points. I'm not even going to get started on this, as it has tired me out. A compromise is the only way to go from here. This is the most satisfying compromise I can come up with. BOTH SIDES WIN, but also give up some. DEAD SILENCE IS ESSENTIAL IN SEARCH AND DESTROY, AND THAT IS A FACT, IF YOU ARE PLAYING ANYONE DECENT, WHICH MOST OF TIMES I AM. Look at the name of the gamemode. It's called SEARCH and destroy, and not CAMP and destroy. HERE'S A COMPROMISE. *************MAKE SURE, FROM NOW ON, THAT YOUR REPLIES RELATE TO SOME SORT OF COMPROMISE (I.E. In case you are having trouble identifying the compromise, I'll explain. INSTEAD OF SIT REP PRO COMPLETELY NEGATING THE FACT THAT YOU ARE USING DEAD SILENCE, YOU STILL MAKE LESS NOISE THAN SOMEONE NOT USING DEAD SILENCE. THAT WAY YOU HAVE TO HAVE SIT REP PRO TO HEAR DEAD SILENCE USERS BUT AT THE SAME TIME YOU DON'T GET TO HEAR THEM AT THE AMPLIFIED VOLUME OF NON DEAD SILENCE USERS. BOTH SIDES BENEFIT.

Its completely unreasonable to change perks based on game modes, but thats ok because theyre both fine already. Ill keep using steady aim and leave you guys to it.
