Beachhead... Top 100% in Clan Ops get Bronze. REALLY?

A couple of months ago, I predicted that the clan ops would have terribly skewed scoring and would be worthless to even consider a "competition."

Turns out, I was not only right, but I only scratched the surface of how bad it would get. ELITE is now giving the TOP 100% (which is everyone) a bronze medal. Enlist and you get bronze. WTF. Are you serious? Why does every clan deserve XP if they can't make the top 50%? This is the last straw IMO. The clan ops have been bad enough that they don't even consider Hardcore players to be worthy of ops. Now, everyone gets XP, too. If that's the case, the last small semblance of competition has flown out the window. Of course, it's not like anyone could check to see exactly how many clans have gotten gold on every op (HBI has), because there isn't a clan tracker. Hey, that would have been a GREAT idea... but you didn't think of it. There are no "standings" or "rankings" of any sort. ELITE, as a website, is the next best thing to useless... Well, honestly, it IS useless. It's like you are just trying to pander to the lowest common denominator customers enough that they'll stick around for ELITE 2.0. Right. Not buying it. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... (Hardcore gamers are seriously pissed at you and the entire CoD franchise right now.)
The other thing about this is... There are no leaderboards to look at for these most recent ops. So, even had I wanted to (and I did), I couldn't go back and analyze the scoring for the last clan op. 25000+ clans enlisted. ELITE describes how to get bronze now... "Bronze: All remaining clans with participants whom scored." (Should have said "who" there... terrible grammar ELITE on top of your other boneheaded mistakes.) So it SAYS that only clans who SCORED are receiving bronze. Oh yeah? And where's the proof? I want to see the leaderboards. If even one clan gets XP for not participating, it invalidates the entire point of clan ops. If all someone has to do is enlist to gain XP, then it isn't a competition, it's a joke. Oh, wait. It is, and has been the entire time, a joke. There is no "fixing" of ELITE. It is broken beyond salvaging. And that's even before you had a chance to mess up Clan Challenges. I'm disgusted with what we've gotten for our money. This isn't competition, this isn't worth the money or effort, and God knows the game itself really isn't that good.
I would like you to get your stuff straight, Beachhead. I know that Activision and Infinity Ward stuck you in between a rock and a hard place. You have done well, all considered. The concept of ELITE was awesome. I bought into it. But what you have delivered isn't enough, not by a long shot, for this customer. I am a hardcore CoD gamer. I am a clan leader. I want the clan ops and challenges like they were promised to us. I don't care how much trouble they are... proper clan ops and clan challenges (of ANY sort) should have been your number one priority this entire time. If you wasted one second worrying about Lone Wolf ops, then you did the entire ELITE membership a disservice. The reason given why there have only been core ops is because most players play core? Ok, fair enough. Then why on God's green earth have you not put your number one priority on clan ops and challenges... because that's what the VAST majority wants. But I'm pretty sure it's too late to change or save anything. And Activision and Infinity Ward will realize their mistakes when ELITE 2.0 rolls out, and four people pay for it. Enjoy!
Have a 1 person clan with Premium. Start the game, play 1 game, get 1 kills. 250 xp.
My clan has been in the top 1% the last several Ops and we get a whole 1,000xp...
Compared to someone who plays 1 game who gets 1/4 of that.
They need to have more tiers.
If they are not going to add clan challenges they should atleast give us more xp for these clan ops. 2,500 xp for winning an operation? You would need to win 40 just to get to the max level. Probably won't even be that many clan ops from now to the next call of duty.
I absolutely agree with both of you. I think it's a travesty that my guys bust out three hours together to earn gold and some slacker gets 1/4 that XP for jack. It's not right. But we're only the suckers... I mean CUSTOMERS who paid for this. Well, maybe not this exactly, but what we thought they were promising us.
Based on the effectiveness of the current state of Clan Operations, I think the situation is OK. Also, the Clan Operations have had a problem scoring properly as well so the legitimacy of the kill counts/etc must be evaluated too. Given all of these problems and the lack of Operations, I don't see a problem with being a little lenient. Now, if all things were working properly, I agree that things should not be so lenient.
given that nearly all of the clan ops so far have been around 1:30am EU....and finish a 4:30 i think its only just acceptable, as i can have a game or two then go to bed, if only we could get some to start a about 8pm when people have finished work or have not got to say up till early morning...1:30 is just a joke
but all in don't think clan ops were thought out very well, but!! if you wonna level you gotta do em right
Bring on clan challenges!
2 clan ops ago my clan got silver & bronze in the same op. Now tell me how that works and then we only get the XP for the bronze medal...
Bump... Bump... Bump...
The problem I can see with being lenient is... We've been lenient for five months now. When do we, as a gaming community, draw the line with unacceptable results for our money? Should we wait a year before getting upset with the current state of affairs on ELITE? Because if we wait that long, we're going to have to pay again to renew. Seems a bit too forgiving in my book.
It is not our problem that Beachhead has had scoring/boosting/cheating issues. If they were not expecting those issues, then they need to find a different line of work. Everyone I know was expecting cheaters and boosters to "win." That's the way anyone who is in the job of producing an online competition should be thinking. How to stop it and counteract it. Had they hit every single cheater (and clan) with the ban hammer (both account AND ip address), then I guarantee the cheating would have been greatly diminished. The scoring issue is another bone of contention... If their stat tracker isn't working properly, then how in the world are they holding competitions in the first place. As it has been said before (and quite spot on, in my mind), we're paying for a beta. Totally unacceptable.
Does the top clan get 2,500 XP? It's not stated on the break down of awards, just on the picture. I'm wondering if that's something they forgot to edit when the started clan ops back op. #COPYPASTEFAIL
