Thoughts on FFA Gunplay?

So, it's been a little while since the FFA Gunplay stuff popped up, so what your thoughts on it?
I think the general idea in trying to input BLOPs-style stuff is great, but the problem is that it STILL contains the usual MW3 crap people hate like the FFA-style spawns (cannot count the number of times I have had people spawn right behind me OR spawn right in front of me and just around a corner), 10 mile knife lunges, and BS lag compensation.
Not to mention that, partially because of such things, it feels like an even bigger campfest than other things I play, especially with 18 guns, 3x6 guns, even One In The Chamber, and such. Most likely because don't have access to both UAV stuff AND Assassin.
I guess I also wonder what prompted the choice of some of the guns in 18 guns and such.

That's why some tip videos all go with the notion that you should stay in a certain part of the map and everytime you kill someone, run back the opposite way since chances are the one you just killed (or someone) will come running up from behind in that direction.
