I've never had to call a plumber yet (and hopefully won't have to now) but just yesterday I did a house call. It cost them about 500 dollars. We installed a shower floor, rerouted the pipes to the correct diverter and out to the individual spots where the shower heads are going. Took about 4 hours if I remember right.
We don't do a lot of house calls, mostly commercial side but the house calls we do do are in big upscale houses. Could be a whole house repipe, changing guts out of toilets, installing shower/bathtub, fixing leaking pipes or installing faucets.

Sounds like the company would make lots of money if you did that more commonly on the high end houses.

I go to the rich part of town, jump in front of slow moving fancy cars and get the drivers to settle out of court.

I really don't see how $20/hr is good.

i just started my new job 2 weeks ago as a medical engineer for a company that makes, rents and sells medical equipment. Its great i just drive around the country in my van fixing and installing products while they pay for my beer, hotel, and give me a good wage. So keep your head up and keep looking i was out of work for just over a year minus a couple of weeks here and there. If you persist you will find something eventually
Im 25 btw
