Well i now have the answer for you. The devs think it's unfair to shoot someone in the back so they made it so that if you shoot someone in the back they take the damage from your bullets and put it into the first bullet out of their gun. This is easily enough to kill you in one shot.
As silly as this theory might sound, it wouldn't be too difficult to assemble a convincing collection of unaltered video clips to support it.

That's what I took from what youknowwho said way back when: everyone should have an equitable game.
I don't really believe it, but....
Ok, I admit it. I'm 47% convinced now that there's some kind of gimping going on. I almost think a few people in every game are picked out to be whipping boys so that-how did he put it?-there will a "path to bragging rights for everyone?"

I honestly think that there is something in play. I can kill 5-8 people in a row, no problem most times. Then it just turns into me being a complete bullet magnet. I cant kill anyone even if I am shooting them as the OP stated.

First match in a session is great lately. Then it gradually reverts to mid-december (or should we call it the baseline?) status of the usual hit markers if you're lucky and on to instant kills from around the corner.

Cool theory but its lag compensation that causes this. On your screen it appears that you fired first and it appeared that he only fired 1-2 shots yet in REAL time he actually fired first and fired several shots and killed you. The game information bounces from his connection to the host then to you and during that short time you spot this guy and start shooting him. Because of that delay (which is ALWAYS there but sometimes much worse than normal) you are actually still playing after you've already died in real time.
You might only experience this delay when you're around certain enemies which is why it might sometimes feel like the same 1 or 2 guys are just owning you ALL over the place, and you can tell they arent even that good. These guys have a closer or tighter connection to the host and sinse their game information passes to the host faster than yours does that means you will be at a slight delay when you are around these specific players.
You may not realize it but during those moments where you're running around and feel like a god because you're killin everyone in sight and doin crazy moves...well in those cases you're almost certainly benefitting from the lag comp. You have the best connection to the host therefore your game information is being fed to you faster than everyone else. On your screen you're runnin around killing enemies, on their screen you're popping out of nowhere and cappin em with one bullet.
Lag comp is needed, but its broken in this game.

MW2 had perfect lag compensation, Activision just had to go fix what ain't broke and ruin it for all of us.
Such a shame that the perfect CoD (one that even surpasses WaW and CoD4 in excellence with Support package and deathstreaks) is ruined by something as trivial as lag compensation.

I wouldnt quite say MW2 had perfect lag compensation. It was better than MW3 ofcourse but in MW2 if you got host then you were god. Everyone that had a good connection to the host could play fine and everyone that had a bad connection to the host would get various degrees of lag, sometimes unnoticable but sometimes un baerable.
Im pretty sure the 'matchmaking' client is supposed to pick the teams in a way where no one will suffer from lag, but sinse there is such a crapshoot of connections to choose from it almost always gets messed up one way or another. You could have 3 guys from New York, 2 from LA, 1 from Toronto, 5 in England, 2 Austrailia etc. One of the guys in New York is the host so they are in god mode. The LA and TO guys are close enough where they have a good connection to the host so no lag is present. However the overseas guys who are in England and Austrailia are experiencing bad lag, even though they have full 4 bar connections it still takes longer for their information to make it to the host and then back to them again.
In short, MW2 didnt have perfect lag compensation it was still bad, just in a different sorta way. But in MW2 the chance of suffering from lag comp was about 50/50, in MW3 its more like 70/30 (in some cases worse, in some cases better).

I agree with that. With the matches I have played as of late, everything you said makes perfect sense. I just hate that I end up going negative and have to hear complaints about having to play with "kids" that go negative. First off, I'm not a kid, I'm probably old enough to be most of these guys' father! Anyway, It's frustrating!

bullet magnet is the words, sometimes in some games I seem to always spawn with my back to an enemy and kapow dead 2 secs after a respawn and it will happen over and over and over and over and well you can see where im going with this
