Clan Operations Status Update

Due to high levels of boosting and cheating detected by our Live Ops team, our winner verification process took longer than expected for the first round of Clan Operations.  We are currently working to reduce the gap between the end of a Clan Operation and when prizing is awarded to winners.  In addition, we're fine-tuning the leaderboard system to streamline the verification process.

This work is nearly complete and we are tracking to restart Clan Operations very soon.  Rest assured, we review every match to identify cheaters and will hold them to our Call of Duty Elite Code of Conduct in addition to the enforced MW3 in-game Code of Conduct.

    Re: Clan Operations Status Update

You review every match?  There's your problem.  If you find them cheating, there's no use looking at the rest of their match.  Just boot them and ban and move to the next one.

Also, how has it taken you over a month to refine the winner verification process?   I guess since I see the leaderboards working, this just seems like a personel issue and not an Elite issue.  So why hold off on them?

And if you haven't read anything posted recently...oh who am I kidding it's obvious you haven't.  "Soon," "very soon," "nearly complete"...we've heard this for five months now.  Enough of it.  Deliver on your crap.  I'm sick of hearing nearly complete.  Give me a percentage.  Tell me what your plan is.  Stop being so vague.  All we want is transparency.

Sounds like something that should have been implemented in the first place. I just can't seem to figure out how you guys didn't foresee everything that has gone wrong so far. This is a Call of Duty title, did you really think there wouldn't be boosters and cheaters? Did you really think the game wouldn't be sold to millions of people? Every year there are problems at launch and every CoD developer says they didn't expect such high volumes of players blah blah blah. Seriously? How can the players know these things but the people that actually make the games and services be oblivious year after year? No offense, I didn't mean any of that in a disrespectful manner. I just wanted to get my thoughts out on it. I hope you guys learned 100% so next year is smooth sailing because ELITE does have great potential. Unfortunately this year has fallen short of everyone's expectations.

    Re: Clan Operations Status Update

Pretty bad people are paying for a service that has not worked since day one and now we getting a shitty response as to why the service is not working, all the problems that people have had with elite prem/founder should get a free year of elite since we payed and have not gotten much use out of it.

$50 a year for a service that has not worked since day one is really bs, people should be reimbursed for this. For one the whole elite concept was down for over 3 month's, clan ops was promised to be working upon release of mw3 and it never was, Op's in general was promised to be working upon release of the game and it did not.

In any civil society if you promise good's to the public and they pay and do not get what they payed for then they can sue and more then half of the time they will win, so some kind of reimbursment would be the right choice.

One way to reduce the time to verify is swing the ban hammer hard and perma ban anyone caught cheating in a competition. Then have a release statement to get the communities attention and I will bet the number of people cheating seriously drops. If you keep codling the cheaters they will keep cheating.

just think if you listened to the the feedback during the beta when everyone told you the type of comps you were running would be boostfests, and made good on the pre launch advertising where elite was supposed to have clan tournements, leagues and "seasons"

you wouldnt now be having these problems would you...

We're how many months in and you guys are still at the apologising and making excuses stage seriously? you lot should be freaking ashamed Elite is a farce.

Well said Mac; my patience has also truely wore thin. I have been one of the few who have defended BH over ELITE, but enough is enough; you guys are taking far too long over things that should only take days at most to sort.

Take my advice and get someone in with EXPERIENCE of working with sites like ELiTE to help you, because from where i am sitting, you honestly don't seem to have a clue, nor do you realise that we paid for the damn thing.

The only thing keeping me from getting a refund is the monthly DLC, and it is heartbreaking, it really is, because I (among others in the know) know that ELiTE could be so much more than it is now, but it is being wasted because you again don't seem to know what you are doing.

Now, I know that clan ops are the only thing not working as of now; but should that not mean that it is what you are focused on? stop trying to add more features and FOCUS yourselves on what doesn't work first.

Seriously, you guys have taken way too long on all of Elite. I mainly bought Elite for the clan perks and not the DLC. First day after clan ops all I did was click around in teams' recent games and within 15 minutes of the leaderboard posting had the top 35 clans or so on the Flagged for Removal op as cheaters. Elite had the capability to be something great....but you have failed miserably since day one. I know, for me, it would help if you guys at least had some transparency on the goings on. I pay for a service and I expect them to tell me what is going on when something has gone wrong. All we have recieved from Beachhead is "soon". A time frame would be great, for once. Let us not forget we're still waiting on Clan Challenges as well. Never hear a word about them though.

All you guys are doing is yelling at Beachhead Studios. Why? Its the **** hackers and boosting community that is impending us from getting what we want. Clan Operations launched excellently, who knew so many boosters existed. And due to that they needed time to sort things out. It took them a WEEK to find and ban the boosters. They want to shorten that time so they are refininig the proccess. It is all the boosters problem.

Clan Challenges are still in development.

This is not an update. this is nothing more than a diversion tactic while 90% of there studio works on elite 2.0 . 5% are tasked with telling all the customers "we appologize blah blah inconvience blah blah soon blah blah. and the last 5% actually work on our problems. read http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/122/1220534p1.html it details and hits the mark on elite. its bad enough to get taken advantage of by other players by cheating and boosting but to be taken advantage of by the devs is just too much. take a note from mass efect 3 and fix what your players want fixed. we are tired of cookie cutter answers and want the truth.

Yeah it is sad but I have to agree. This is complete BS with these updates. I have waited MONTHS for clans and is the ONLY reason I bought ELITE and even the game in general. When I bought this it was clear that these features would be in the package of what I paid for. I can see problems at launch and that would be fine but with it being MANY months and having said that you were unaware that cheaters would happen in these clan ops is crazy talk. You must have been living under a rock if you think cheating would not occur.

Beta could of been longer to sort out systems for these cheats and boosters,,It is the first year of Elite and they have a big job at hand with the amount of people lacking sportsmanship and skill having to resort to cheating..If it was me that had started up Elite id be gutted at the numbers cheating..I still see players around that used the damage cheat that never got reset and still get people asking for clan invites with like 28 days double xp and people with boosted headshots..A red mark on cheats Elite profile would help clan leaders with members invites. Also on the mind is i paid full price for Elite yet New Zealand members are not eligible for prizes...Its like paying an entry fee for a race but if you win your prize is pocketed by the organizer...Early days people we are founders building a COD competitive community, i say take your time Elite stomp these cheats hard..

Why not be exactly like inifityward with these matters?

If a team cheats, even one member cheats, ban the clan.

This way no clan will accept boosters and there will be no cheating.

Infinityward destroyed cheaters at the start of this game with mega-bans and negative points... How about you guys let them know who is the real boss?

Beachhead, What would be a good idea, is to derail any clans associated with boosters. Now I understand that for a clan of 100 members, it would be hard for the clan leader to prevent boosting in their clan without knowing about it before hand, so maybe warning badges asigned to clans that have a history of boosting? So other players know NOT to join them, im not saying this should be the over all punishment, just gives a heads up to the legit players.

Hope its up and running soon. You owe us all 2 prestige tokens for the trouble

    Re: Clan Operations Status Update

You people are pathetic. You're all like little children who haven't gotten their way. This is the real world. There are going to be bumps and obstacles in the road, things are going to take longer than expected because that's just how things work. You guys seem to be forgetting that without them, there wouldn't even be a game. They are trying to do something to improve and expand the CoD community, and jumping at their throats isn't going to help anything. You cannot blame BH for the boosters and cheaters, it happens in every game. The only way to help it is to stop it from happening, and seeing as how there are always bound to be gaps in the game for them to exploit, it's up to XBOX Live, PC and PS3 people to watch for and deal with it.

That said, BH your messages and updates give too little information. Stop being so cryptic and clearly explain what is happening, etc. Most of us did pay for ELITE and we deserve some answers. And just do your best to get Clan Ops up and running again.

    Cheers,

    M4r7i4N

      Re: Clan Operations Status Update

I agree. And I'm almost certain that the dev crew already know how royally pissed most of the community is. My point is, complaining nonstop isn't going to speed up the process. I'm sure they are working on getting things up and running. They are just taking their sweet time to hit it right this time (hopefully).

Cheaters are always going to find ways to do what they do best. And it sucks that us legit players have to suffer because of it. If the guys in charge would make an example out of a few of them then maybe we wouldn't have to deal with it. Im talking about the fury of the perma banhammer. If you knew the risk of cheating would forfeit your cod future you probably wouldnt do it. If they would do this I would personally record vids of every cheater I find in hopes of improving the cod community. Otherwise it would be a waste if they just get back from suspension and carry on with this behavior.

Anyway thanks for the update, no matter how vague it was. At least you acknowlege our desire for info about wtf is going on.

    Re: Clan Operations Status Update

While I appreciate the amount of work it has taken to run ELITE, there is a valid point that cannot be denied. Each and every person who paid for this service was sold with ALL of the things ELITE has advertised (including Clan Challenges). That we are almost to April and have had just three clan ops (one of which almost got the chopping block) is absolutely inexcusable! I don't care how long it takes them to catch cheats. If they didn't know there were going to be cheats and prepare for it, then they shouldn't be in the game development business. (Of course, they weren't prepared for millions of people descending on the site from day one... These are definitely not people who think ahead well.) CoD is irreparably besmirched by every day that goes by without clan ops (much less Clan Challenges... which is the only way someone who didn't pay for ELITE can contribute to a clan, let's not forget.) Another thing we were not going to see in ELITE was double XP weekends, because they would be giving out enough with clan ops. Oops. To all of you who actually played MW3 this weekend because they are pandering to you... for shame. The only way to truly show displeasure with a service is NOT TO USE IT. Boycott MW3 until we see more clan ops and clan challenges actually gets up and running. Post your displeasure on Twitter (#ELITEisajoke). Talking in the forums accomplishes nothing.

I'm angry because ELITE had the potential to be revolutionary in its approach and groundbreaking in its "outside the lines" effect with gamers. As it is, ELITE is a blueprint for how to steal more money from gamers' pockets and not deliver as promised.

Oh and by the way, happy one month anniversary since the last Clan Operation! I have given up on ELITE living up to even a tenth of its promise. ELITE 2.0? GTFO. No way. I don't know why they're bothering spending even one hour preparing for something that no one in their right mind will spend money on after this dog and pony show.

Ok, I understand that Clan Ops/Challenges are taking a little longer that expected. No problem as long as I get the 12 months of service that I paid for. Not six months of a product and six months of excuses.  Once BH figures out how to make their product work, I'm sure that's when the clock is going to start for my 12 month subscription. If not, then I'll get more colorful with my feelings.

Clan ops only twice a month....
