I can't log into mw3 on Xbox although defcon status says its green

Something is wrong with mw3 servers. My BF3 is working online fine and live seems to b working

I'm down to. WTF Halo works fine.

I purchased the new map pack last night and was really looking forward to playing it today. Only to find out that the server is down which is complete bull. I want $20 worth of MS points back. Still down in CA at 8:09PM(PDST).

servers arent down, they are just filled to capacity, i.e. activision decided to get all cheap on us and not delegate enough bandwidth to handle the client load.  Its just like they did with world of warcraft. they only allocate enough space to handle a percentage of its entire userbase at all times under the assumption that not everybody is going to be playing all at once.  But on nights like this, friday night, week of first content drop for non elite subscribers, and double xp, there are obviously a lot more people than activision expected.  So GG activision, glad to see you put my 110 dollars total i spent for this game and elite to line your pockets rather than putting it towards network stability to ensure that I will be able to play.

now this is crap. I pay my money to play. i dont expect the servers to ever go down. i expect them to have plans for things like today, alot of people on and overloading the servers.  it realy pisses me off that it happend on dubble xp weekend.  its bad enouph to already haft to deal with lag because of .3 fix now this. come on get your act together IW.

Lemme enlighten all of you who are concerned about the server. Activision shut down the server because of a security breach on the PS3 which has effect the platform as a whole because now their software is comprimised. Because of the hackers that dug this whole so deep that it's affecting consol networks on all platforms so Activision shut down their server to take the time to patch these hacks and cracks in the server. There's a huge debate about this whole ordeal on wheather or not Activision is slackin with their security because they dont wanna spend the money to upgrade security and of course there's the contracts that were made with the PS3, XBOX, Wii, etc. platforms that they have to worry about because it's not just the servers, it's the consol networks and software that are being comprimised. Activision might just be covering their own ass. Nobody knows yet. Alot of the accusations as to what's going on are still rumors but we as gamers can deduce what's really going on. Activision's security isn't as up to par as they say it is.
