    The thing with pump shotguns is that they are absolutely useless without the right gear (steady aim/damage/range), but with it they become a force to be reckoned with in skilled hands. This is a problem when it comes to buffing them unfortunately, as you risk making them too good when used with the right setup. Why did IW give them the damage proficiency in the first place? Completely unnecesary in my opinion.

    Even with damage, pump shotguns and the AA12 are still not powerful enough to compete against ARs and SMGs. Shotguns were perfect during the emags glitch except for the striker and some imbalance within the shotgun class. Not a single thread that we can find said that the pre-patch pump shotguns were overpowered. See we know how much shotguns would have to be buffed in order to become overpowered.

     

    No matter how skilled you become with shotguns, it doesn't change the fact that you would do even better with almost any other weapon.

    If you argue shotguns are bad because of lag, this video would like to have a word with you. It shows a modded W1200 from CoD 4 to have the same stats as the spas 12 in mw3.

    Only IW would know how to make one of the most powerful real life guns the worst gun in the game.

    That is actually awful. BLOPS shotties are WORLDS better than the ones in MW3, even the Akimbo'd HS-10 with their massive spread.

     

    Regarding the AA-12, I still think one of it's major drawbacks is it's pellet count vs. it's spread.

    8 pellets fired in that sniper rifle tier spread? Good luck with OHKs past knife range.


    Midway through making this post I looked up the damage stats for the MW3 shotties.

     

    The AA-12 is the only primary shotty that:

    1. Has max damage less than 20 per pellet (15)
    2. Has minimum damage less than 10 per pellet (5)

    3. With all pellets landing (when will that happen given it's spread?), does less than 150 points of damage (It's damage at 120)
    4. With all pellets landing with Damage on, does less than 200 points of damage (it's damage at 168)

    5. Has the largest spread compared with the other primary shotties, even with Steady Aim which negates the need to ADS.


    All I can say to that is ssdfsdghsdfgwhy. The stats for it are as good as the in-game model (which is poo).
    Why is there a shell holder if it uses mags, an empty one at that? Why is the 870's pump mounted on the front? Why is there an ammo pouch if there is a shell holder?
