your crazy man, even at my slow internet speeds i get raped by kids 1/2 second ahead of me. now in Warfare 2 (even while having a verizon DSL connection) i did just fine, even in 1v1 matches against people with high end cable matches who were hosting. Lag compensation on paper is a GREAT idea, but when actually applied in match making failed in a epic way.
So as a player who plays on crappy DSL NOT a high end internet connection i would MUCH rather have MW2 host selection over Mw3's lag compensation- Report Abuse

if it wasn't for lag comp I reckon it the game would be in a far worse state
Worked perfectly fine in the previous CoD games. And almost every other multiplayer game out there. Yes, lag was in those games, but it wasn't intentionally giving the host and people with faster internet the disadvantage. And it worked much better.

True story Aero, in the past people looked to get the best connection as possible for obvious reasons. Craig as i said i meant no disrespect, as you are a vet i struggle to comply with your point, sorry.

In previous cod games not many people had more than a 10meg connection so the difference in speeds wasn't so much, now though lots of people have very low speeds but also more and more people are on speeds of 10, 20, 30, 40 even 50, the difference in speeds nowadays is huge compared to the past when most were running on the same hence the reason lag comp is needed.

Speeds is not what it is about, rather quality of connection.
Edit:
Like low pings, zero jitter and packet loss. Most nowadays have enough bandwidth.

Guys all you have to nerf your connection so players like Craig can host. Set your router upload speed to the bare minimum for XBL, which is .5 Mbps or 500 Kbps. Let the bad internet guys host this crap and maybe they will start to sing a different tune.

Well I'm not exactly an expert or anything but I was always under the impression that if you pay for a really good connection then your almost guaranteed good attributes like you mention, don't know for sure but you would think that to be the case.
