Why are Elite members getting Overwatch on the 29th?

Xbox got it on February 21st and for us it on Thursday March 29th. That's 38 days from when it came out in Xbox. The store usually updates on Tuesdays, so why not make it available on Tuesday March 20th? Activision is so full of it. You just like to screw PS3 do you?

Why are you comparing to when XBox received their content? We received the first two maps on February 28th. We receive the next map 30 days later, on the next Tuesday because that's when the PSN Store updates. That would be March 29th.

  I have no problem with xbox elite getting its dlc prior to xbox premium. However I do have a problem with non premium xbox users getting DLC before PS3 Premium users.

    I already addressed that in the other thread where this was brought up. We received our content this week. They receive theirs at the end of the month.

  Look at a calendar mithbtX March 29th is a Thursday not a Tuesday so the closest Tuesday for the PS Store update would be the 27th.

    Which would be before the 30-day window I mentioned in response to the OP. I got confused on the days, but they still couldn't release on the 27th.

      i didn't think they had to wait 30 days between the 2 ps3 release dates. i thought it was supposed to be a 30 day window between xbox release and ps3 release.

        I know there's a 30-day window between when content is released for XBox and PS3, and I don't expect there's any sort of contractually obligated 30-day window between releases on PS3. But it's my guess that if they're setup to release content every 30 days, it's because they need 30 days to get the content developed and tested. Compressing the development schedule by a week and a half just to pacify whiny PS3 players could have more negative consequences. Plus if it's anything like this last DLC, they probably have patches and updates to include with the content, and I'd rather they have the full 30 days to develop and test those patches, even if it means waiting a whole 40 days from the XBox release to get something that makes this game more playable on PS3.

        I agree. I'm not saying their method of communication couldn't do with some improvement, but I can understand why the release schedule is the way it is.

  You are absolutely incorrect.
  Activision decides/sets PS3 release dates based upon when Xbox got it. We dont wait for a month for our next content.
  ATVI and MS deal states 30 days. ATVI make any release date after 30 days. They chose not to put it on the 22nd or the 20th because it will be less than 30 days and Xbox LIVE general community gets Collection 1 that week. We wait because we have no choice.
  
  Go to the official content calendar it has a PS3 dedicated one.

    We wait until they release it. The schedule is up to them. Saying "XBox got it on such and such date, we should have it on this other date" won't change the schedule. At least 30 days from XBox release, but that doesn't mean they absolutely have to release it on the very next Tuesday.
    
    If you're not playing on XBox, why are you worrying about when XBox gets content? Why not just go by the dates they've offered for our releases and not worry about whether it 30 days or 36 days from the last XBox release?

  No it is not. ATVI/MS have a deal that gives the Xbox 360 DLC first. Thats why we compare. We PS3 PLAYERS paid $50 too.

    i am starting to think, maybe Ps3 players should be able to get elite for $5-10 cheaper cuz they are not getting the maps early. it is so stupid, infact the whole collection 1 should be available for less cuz of the **** we have to deal with, with this stupid MS and AVTI contract. it is not fair.

      Well its not fair but its the real deal. This is only the begining.... MS and Activision will renew their deal 2013 - 20XX so they can have DLC for Xbox even on the next gen xbox console.
      
      SINCE it has been such a good bussiness deal between MS and GREEDYVISION the same deal will be made all over again. Unless Sony dont step up and pay as well...which is higly unlikely...

        The game itself is so messed up and you fools are falling for the oldest trick in the book. Rather than fix the problems they sell you more crap to add, do it so you get upset and presto, you have forgot about the games faults and are now focused on pointless matters. This game needs far more than DLC, but clearly it will never happen.

Microsoft and Activision have an exclusivity contract. PSN and PC players will ALWAYS get content no sooner than 30 days after Xbox Live! players. - Period.

And unfortunately there is probably no end in sight for this... and will continue even when Black Ops 2 arrives in November.

If everyone is so worried about when CRAPBOX players get the DLC then why not just buy a CRAPBOX and stop your complaining.
