How Beahchead could Balance Ops so everyone has a chance to Win

Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit kinda, unfair? I mean, okay I know the Best clan/person get the prizes but (not counting boosters when I say this) wouldn't it be more fair to make normal plebs have half a chance of winning?
What I mean is I have three things going against me
1 is time - I live in Australia so ops times can be anywhere from Middle of the Night to Early Morning, and on rare occassions Midday
2 is skill - I'm not a demigod, I can average 19-25 kills a match but i also get 15-22 deaths a match
3 is pingrate - My suburb gets terrible pingrates and I'm on the best service provided (bar getting a satellite dish and that ain't happening)
Last night (Last Clan ops was 11:30PM - 2:30AM Sunday night) so only i was getting kills and my pingrate was horrendous, I had to do camper* kills for the most part as if I tried to move and shoot my ping would shipt itself and all I'd see is a blur, an unskippable kill cam (hitting square wasn't working as ping was so bad) and then I'd respawn adn it'd take a good 2-3 seconds to move, if I stood still to kill i managed to pull them off, course i still got a few run and gun kills but I was well below my average playing, my point is it was a disaster and since i was the only person who didn't have school/work (I'm currently on a sorta forced holiday) only I was on for as long as my patience allowed.
This time issue is not really solvable as even if they move it it'll always be night somewhere, my thought was let's not make it the highest score you can make in three hours but to make it the best of several matches, that is let's say they set a time, it could be 12 hours and then you do like we already do and have a mode and an Objective so let's say most Confirms in KC, but they only count your best 6 match scores in that 12 hour block. so for instance if I only get 30 minutes of play (like I did last night) it wouldn't matter so much, especially if they were great games, I played roughly 6 games so those scores would be counted and I'd have a chance (well not really last night as i ws only person playing but if ti was lone wolf).
It would also mean that the winners would be more diverse, from what i hear 360 pretty much has 1 guy who always wins, if it only counted the best 6 matches it would just take someone to have their 6 matches to his 6 best matches, it would also make going through the matches quicker to look for boosters, as now they have to look through 3 hours of matches, they just need to see 6 matches per player.
Okay maybe my idea would mean some people who were not the greatest players of all time would win, but it would mean it would make the winners more diverse and boost the number of people getting Premium, many of the people I play with in clan are not interested in Premium as while they want to help the clan they don't see any true benefit to themselves in Lone wolf as the winners are always Demigod players and usually people with kick ace connections as well, which is my issue where I live, I can only use Fixed Wireless and as everyone in my suburb uses the same tower it's often overloaded or in the case of last night a junction box malfunctioned and only supplied half it's bandwith.
*Camper kills are when you see a Skull for a teammate pop up and you guage the enemies options and gamble on them coming your way, then you position yourself to be able to kill thme when they run into a room or go past you, it's not straight camping as you still run around tha'ts why I say camper, you reposition and kill in different spots, call it camping but in the end what could I do, quit and go to bed, I wanted to try to get some EXP, as i said though I eventually gave up after about 30 minutes.
oh and I also think my idea will help with the problem of losing time getting put on end of matches, you know when you get put into a match and all you see is the score screen, everytime i get one of those atm it really agrevates me as if I'm in an op is just wasting my time, if i only had to get 6 matches it would mean I'd be able to just go oh well lost some time no biggie I'll just make sure when i get into a match i do my absolute best, as oppose to now when i think dammit I should be getting points to my totals this is taking to long argh, Rage!!!
Time was also a shitty thing in lone wolf ops all the actual prizes were middle of the night and all the awesome digital badges were afternoon which were good for aussies always unfair...
My point exactly, i also understand that the times also favoured East coast US, and not West coast US, in my Idea it balances the whole world out.
lol Think again.
All times favor West coast US... I dont think a comp ending at 2 am is favoring east coast... unless the people don't work the following day.
Most comps start approx 5-8pm PST, which is 8-11 EST.
Ah... well as I live in Australia I might have mixed them up, I just remember someone saying that they found the times in one of the coasts of US to be inconvenient, either way if they did something like my Idea it would mean they would increase the time we have to accumulate good matches and we won't have to worry about only have a three hour window at crappy times, I know for myself I got scrooged (with all of Australia/Asia/Oceania) when they did the 100k comp as it was at 2:30AM - 6:30AM Monday morning, making it nearly impossible for anyone in this part of the world to play, it was also the first day of School going back so not even students were given a chance to compete, so it would only have been Dole Bludgers and people on holiday/jobs in the afternoon
Bump, coz i really want Beachhead to read this as really with all the delays with our Caln Ops maybe they should really really consider this as an option.
As a fellow Australian, I feel your pain. Finding Operations that suit Aussie time zones are very rare (I was very surprised to see the first Clan Op in the middle of the day for us). Giving people that opportunity to complete their best 6 or whatever number of matches is a good idea (would probably have to be at least 10 matches to spread the field out)
I think if Beachhead sat down and really thought it over it wouldn't just help Aussies, it would help everyone in the World, I mean the more I read about Clan/Lone Wolf Ops times the more I see that it's not only Australia, England, European Countries and Asian Countries, even US Players are complaining, and if you think about it that's the core Audience, I mean not seling short Europe/Asia but if you look at the Map in the corner of screen the US is one Solid colour, hell even the southern states are filled in, sure the Europe/Asian part is pretty glowy, but US is like a Solid Green, if you can't keep the Solid Green country happy you should say "Holy Shutzenfest" we need to fix that!
Of course my Idea will need to be worked out, for instance should it be 6 Matches should it be 10, should it be run for 12 hurs or a Full 24, bt let's face it the current set up is not great, it's got too much room for Exploitation and it's Biased, not just for time, I mean if I gotta play a Game on a foriegn server where I'm getting 1 bar I'm not gonna be playing my best, I'll have 0% chance of getting Champion, this way all i gotta do is play the required amount and be done with it, I leave it to skill more then having best connection or being in correct time zone.
The whole time issue is the same as the core/hardcore issue! They are going to schedule the compatitions to the masses..(majority)
Top 6 Games wouldnt work to many people would have the same score the current method i think enables more variety and people could get 6 lucky games that wouldnt be a true measure of there skill.
I see what your saying but in reality my way is probably a better measurement then the way it is now, for instance last time I played a Lone wolf op it was 7AM on a Weekday here in Australia, which meant out of the games I played maybe 5-10% were played on Australian Server, all the rest were either in Japanese Games or American I think I also got somewhere Middle Eastern.
Of the Three hours of Play I got maybe 15 Full matches, at best, I had 5 Lobby reshuffles (from memory) and they all cost me time, off the Half Matches at least 6-7 I came in with maybe time for 1-2 kills if I could get them but mostly I was dumped in the middle of Laggy Games and would either Shoot and get no Hit Markers or be dead before I knew what had happened.
Of the 15 Full Matches over half were with 1-2 Bars (Ping) and so I got Owned Alot, my KDR dropped by 0.06 over the Full Three Hours, Okay so I'm not the Greatest Player and I'm not saying I am so if you go to my Career and are like Meh kdr 1.0 whatever I am what I am, my Point is for those matches I was getting 0.4-1.1 in over half of the matches as I do have a few Tricks for getting kills in Laggy Servers (mostly entails Camping and Ambushing while trying not to move to much as running around makes it worse, which is not how I ordinarily play, ordinarily I'm a full Sprint into Enemy Territory and start razing hell) my Point is I probably played 3-4 matches at my Ordinary Level, so the score at the end of the Event was nowhere near my True Potential and therefore not a true representation.
The more I think about it the people with Satellite Connections and those who Live in Correct Times have the Advantage, you cannot convince me otherwise, and that in turn makes the event Farcical, it basically relies on me either pretty much Boosting (Which I would rather Sew My Eyes Together with a Soldiering Gun then Every Lower Myself To Do!) or move to America, which I'll say respectfully "Will Not Happen".
Also maybe they could run two events, one with Old System of Play Three Hours and Try to get Highest adn One with my Idea (only with Kinks Worked out) that way it will mean I can play the Matches where I have a Chance and you can Play matches where you have a Chance, I mena in the end I'm just asking for a Fair Go, which is not what i have now, all I have now is Frustration and without meaning to sound bitter a False Statement as the Phrase "Compete to Win Prizes" doesn't apply to me as all i can do is Compete for a Badge.
What I also wanna just add is I'm not saying the Best Player shouldn't win, I'm saying we paid for a Service, I expect to have at least some chance to win, or at least feel like I can compete, I don't get that now so I gave up, I play Clan Ops coz at least i get EXP for Clan but as for Lone Wolf I just don't see the Point, no Reward just getting up in Middle of Night to Yell at my Console as I Lag my way through Several Bitter Stuttery Matches and then Left Asking, and I paid for this?
The only thing we actually need is for Elite to run more operations, as in more than 1 per day.
Top 6 games is like a Death Streak for Clan Operations. I don't like the idea.
and yes... Beachhead can afford several more FT employees to make sure boosting doesn't ruin Ops.
Let's say 1,000,000 people bought Elite. That's 50,000,000.00. I'm assuming they paid Beachhead very little since they obviously have no experience trying to create something like this (joking, im sure they're paid a good bit). Subtract out any advertising for the product they portrayed (not what we received). We still have a ridiculous #.
Hire 20 full time employees at $40,000 each. $800,000 per year + hire expenses and benefits so we'll say closer to 1.2 million. That's 2.4 % profit decline for a massive boost in happiness to its users. Thus more people will buy the product since we will advertise for them. Thus a net profit.
A few months into Beachhead/IW suspending boosters from Clan Ops, boosting will minimize greatly. They can let go 1/2 their staff. Less boosters, quicker results in Leaderboards. Again, happier customers. Again an increase in Premium users for BO 2.
yada yada....
