Point of akimbos is simply give you an advantage on CLOSE range, they're supposed to be there to give you a chance to put up a fight against more than just one opponent attacking you, or then just for you to make an assault, IN CLOSE RANGE.
In BO you needed the Steady aim to make the dual wields usefull, now you don't need the steady aim, and it seems to me that when the akimbos were nerfed very slightly, it was forgotten that the steady aim is there...
Never used FMG9 akimbo with steady aim, but based on my knowledge how lethal it is without it, I can only ask, whats the point of having steady aim perk in MW3 at all?

Ban the akimbos, I hate it when there is small map with objectives and other team uses only akimbos..

Thats the problem right there though, all MW3 maps to me are CLOSE Range maps so you just can't compete against akimbo 90% of the time.
where as on previous CODs you had a veriaty of bigger maps making Akimbo basicly usless or hit and miss.

*FACEPALM*
I think that the real idea is really to make the akimbos more usefull, then again pro does allow you to aim faster to the sights after sprinting....

Feels like people roll around in a big pot of glue, then role around in a big pile of bullets on the floor then head for the nearest red dot on the map and pull the trigger!

True, if the maps had large and open areas it would already help a lot, but it doesn't those, so only way to make this game enjoyable would be to give the akimbos a decent spread instead of the ones they've now =/

Yeah, a lot of people would be surprised at the effective distance of shotguns (depending on the ammo) in real life. Even regular buckshots have an effective distance of up to 70 meters/75 yards/225 feet. Most CQC situations people die in in MW3 are well within that range it looks like, so seeing people cry out, "He killed me from 40 feet away!!!" just makes me laugh since, from 40 feet, in real life, a person would be nearly torn in half probably.

Akimbo FMG9 is an OP weapon, and so are all other automatic akimbo setups. IW/3ark should double to triple the recoil if the guns are ever be fair, or better yet remove the akimbo option from automatic guns completely.
