In previous COD titles there has been the option to adjust the level of the in game music independently of the sound effects (gunfire, footsteps, etc..). Can we please get this put back in? It has been said alot that when the when you unlock challenges it makes it so you cant hear whats going on in the game. The "cinematic" music that randomly play does this as well. And not to mention it is just annoying to have two different things tied to one control, and to not have the option to not hear something you might not want to hear. I just got a headset and this has greatly exacerbated the issue, to the point where it is now a must. We really should be able to turn music off so we can actually hear what is going on in the game. So everyone who wants this, sign your name.
It looks like Infinity Ward is developing or discussing adding separate audio channels to MW3.

It's at the very end of fourzerotwo's post.
I'm also assuming that when fourzerotwo refers to "MP music volume remix.." he means the ability to adjust the volume level of in game music separately from SFX.
If they actually get around to doing it, it'll be awesome!

Though I ran a similar post months ago, I sign this. I don't really notice any in game music, but the Terminator music in the lobby drives me mad. I am lazy and hate adjusting my volume in between games. Please let me be a couch popato and give me the ability to shut off the music so I can hear my friends talk.

Im under the impression that someone who shall remain nameless is just a troll with delusions of self importance and thats why they seem to comment on EVERYTHING and repeating themselves with the same opinions. Even when they have no interest in the topic in hand like for example in my thread titled 'great rule for clans' in which they stated they had no interest in clans but still took the time to make multiple posts! In this thread they then go on to say tough luck for buying a ps3 and I bet its because you were too cheap to buy xbl, what a tool! I dont think anyone bought a ps3 for that reason dumbass! Please guys don't feed the troll!

While others have previously mentioned IW's response, I believe it is worth linking to G IH A IN ID II's post on the subject of users being able to adjust music volume last month in the Title Update thread.

For those that do not want to follow the link, I include a copy of the response below.

This is still a topic of discussion at IW. To clarify I stated that the opinion of the team was that the music adds to the drama of the game. More importantly, however, it was felt that providing the option to mute all background music could lead to a tactical imbalance in the game. Where a person who enjoys the game with music is put at a tactical disadvantage against someone who has the music track muted.
