Does having a high k/d really make you look like a nerd? Ive heard plenty of people say it and i need this cleared up. Also does having a low k/d make you look like trash?
Having a high KDR doesn't make you a nerd. Having a high KDR for games like Domination when I check someone's stats and they have tons of kills and a small amount of caps/defends does, though. But that's just my take,
IMO having a 1.75 maybe 1.80 K/D is a good player and they have my respect and a 1.50-1.74 is above average then 1.20-1.49 is an average player and anything less than that is a bad player by my standards. I have a 1.90 K/D and thats after I used the riot shield and messed around and all that. Some people will say W/L is more important but anyone can get carried by other people and if you go 10-30 and win..thats a loss in my book
K/D doesn't necesarly show if a player is good or bad. Add SPM like in black ops and NOW you got some idea of whos good. We had 4 formulas to figure it our in team deathmatch: 1. High K/D ratio and High SPM, good player. 2. High K/D ratio and Low SPM, camper. 3. Low K/D ratio and High SPM, crazy rusher. 4. Low K/D ratio and Low SPM, bad player. Simple. By the way most are 1 and 4, but there always some gay campers and crazy rushers, heheh.
It just shows you have too much time on your hands really...that or you don't have any REAL hobbies.
I'm sorry, but do you have to use the word gay? That's not cool.
What if you only play on weekends? Does that still apply?
Eh not really. Anyone who thinks so is a jackass. Having a high-end KD just means you kill more than die which is always a plus.
Personally I'll team with anyone over 1.50 but don't start considering people serious threats until 2.50+ on both kd and w/l. But at the same time I won't consider someone with a 4+ KD a threat if their w/l is too low.
It comes down to personal preference. Negative KDs do make the player look like a bad player in my eyes because it's not hard to go positve and it's also not hard to play the objective and go positive.
I'm the type of player you're probably referring to. I go negative pretty often in Domination (not real hard when you're a) not that good and b) the enemy knows where you have to be). However, if the object of the game is to capture/defend flags and that helps the team, I don't think that is being carried if you are out there doing it. I'm ok with a negative KDR in Domination if I am consistently getting "Dominator" and my team wins.
Then again, when you play random and you have KDR happy fools who don't both with capping anything other than the first flag of the map, you take the loss with them, as well.
Talking to other people about your KDR is what makes you a nerd.
