Why don't all Kills count ?

I dont understand the logic behind not having grenade kills be counted towards killstreaks, or total kills.

It seems like only gun kills count. Knife might, not sure though. And I think kills from killstreaks count.

 

Why is grenades the exception?

 

I feel like I killed 'em. WTF ya know.
