@djam: assassin counters the CRUTCHES this game provides for bad players that need help finding targets to kill. learn the maps, use YOUR EYES + EARS, and use common sense. look on the map, see where your team is and guess where the OTHER team is? everywhere your team isn't. now go kill them and stop complaining.

UAV spam is a much bigger problem now that you can earn a UAV across deaths and by shooting down air support or capping objectives. i don't mind it tho, because i shoot down as much of that crap as possible.

the sooner you get over something that has been in the game forever and focus on stuff that's ACTUALLY BROKEN [FMG9's, type95 hip firing, striker] the sooner you can get back to having fun.

    cheers

Like I said, you have no real arguments here. You use it, probably exclusively, so you don't want it to be balanced. That's all there is to it really.

    Spot on.

The over reliance on the mini-map and the ever growing number of ways to be seen and found besides the naked eye are the real issue.

FMG9s aren't broken. Use your eyes and ears, common sense and more importantly your weapon. FMG9 users can be easily countered by shooting them to death. Same goes for everything else you listed. See, this joke of an argument can be used for anything.

In all seriousness though, all you listed are ineffective on long range. Don't get into CQC with someone using these and you won't have a problem.

In Modern Warfare 2 Cold-blooded had a decent counter, the Heartbeat Sensor. And the choice between more bullet damage and UAV immunity.

In Black Ops Ghost had a decent counter, the Blackbird.

In MW3 there are no decent counters.

Recon is not a decent counter. You have very few explosives that you can't even resupply. The effect only lasts 10 seconds (5 if he has Dead Silence), and you have to actually know where the Assassin user is to tag him.

Recon Drone? 10 kills with the support package and the effect lasts one life. Again, you need to manually tag them. Not good enough of a counter.

The FMG's certainly are broken. Saying kill them before they kill you is fine, I see the point and I do this now since they refuse to accept that they are the strongest weapon in the game as a SECONDARY. Have you seen the video of the guy shooting down the helicopter with them? LoL - as for not getting in CQC, have you played mw3? This game is 85% CQC and 15% not. Maybe 90/10. not important.

Recon is a good counter. I have a Recon class with frag, concussions, ACR w/ext mags + silencer, XM25. That's 15 possible painting chances without counting Recon Pro's painting via bullet damage. You knew about this, right? Paintball gun = recon pro. Hit marker lights em up.

And the recon drone paints them for one life assuming they're killed after tagging and NOT TAGGED AGAIN. The drone lasts for a while and on a map like Dome I can usually paint the whole team at least twice if my teammates are rushing hard and killing everything they see. Manually tagging them is the point. You get XP for that! SMH

Sorry... but your only issue with Assassin is you're not getting dots.

    Does Assassin---

    ... let you reloead quicker?

    ... swap weapons faster?

    ... ADS faster?

    ... run longer?

    ... avoid claymores?

    ... stay hidden from choppers?

There are perks that actually affect how a player moves... gives them a real advantage... and you're consumed with missing dots.

It's funny how people really didn't complain about perks like this untill the game developers took out stopping power.
