It's not so much the a secondary weapon should never beat a primary weapon, but it should never be BETTER than a primary weapon except in certain instances (e.g. Pistols > Sniper Rifles in CQB). That was a point of contention with the community in regards to shotguns in MW2. They were TOO good to be a primary weapon. It was like having Overkill without actually having it.
You don't want that. You want a secondary weapon that is good and usable, but you don't want one where people prefer that over the primary weapon based upon it's effective use. If someone likes it just because they like it, fine. I like the USP .45, I get having favorite weapons.
But don't let "favorite weapons" be confused with "too good to be a secondary". We have Overkill if we want dual primary weapons.

The thing is people are using the terms secondary and primary and putting abstract meanings to them that they should not have. A weapon is a weapon regardless of what slot it is in. it should not matter what slot the weapon is in on how it peforms or not. that is not balance. Any weapon should be able to be in any slot and do well regardless of the fact of what slot it is in.
Most of these that complain about OP weapons are just people that died to a weapon X amount of times got angry about and then decided it was unfair. They then see a site like the one guy uses and then try to use that as an excuse for the weapon being too good. They refuse to accept is is their own actions or inactions that control the outcome of each battle and not just the weapon. It is not just about some numbers on a site that determines game play balance. It never has been that way. It is about each player learning and adapting and growing beyond their comfort zone in how they play.
They refuse to move beyond the idea that first slot weapons should always be better. when that is clearly not the truth and never should ever be. Are the akimbo fmg's good? They can be at the right range, but other than taht they are trash against a player that knows how to counter them. But no one here wants to do that they want the developers to do it for them, so they do not need to adapt or learn or change how they play ever. If I wanted to play the game teh same way all the time I would never buy a new game.
The whole idea about a new game is having to learn to adapt and change how you play based upon the weapons in the game. Not having the weapons adapted to how you play the game. Not assuming that how it was in a past game of the same name is how it will be and should be in all future games of the same name. That is just dull and boring and useless and foolish.

*cough* Modern Warfare 2 *cough*UMP was borderline. It may have been a 3HK from all range, but it had the slowest ROF out of all SMGs so it lost to every SMGs in SMG range combat, making it technically the worst SMG. I'm not going to say it's balanced, but I'm not going to say its OP or a gun that can out perform all guns. MW2 had weapon balance down to a tea. They could've had a little more recoil, but meh, it's call of duty, it's NEVER had high recoil.
Please, prove to me there was a gun that dominated all in MW2 (Aside from UMP, as I've already adressed it).
-Note: I'm only talking about the GUNS, so don't bring out the OMA/DC/Commando/Nuke etc etc

You surely do not understand the words primary and secondary. You might want to study up on your english skills. And you might want to study up on fps also. They do not call them weapon 1 weapon 2. First slot Second slot. Primary 1 primary 2. Just cause I am really nice I will give you some definitions.

I do love how you talk about skill then yet say they are easy to use. I think it is a little contradictory. I would love to see you beat me on a 1v1 battle. I will use akimbo FMG, you use whatever you want besides akimbo FMGs. 90% chance I come out in the leader why because the power those guns offer. Many people use them as if they where primaries because on maps like dome, hardhat, mission they offer CQS power that no other gun has. You come around a corner you see a arm you start shooting they are dead. Smgs can do this also but compared to the mass amount of rounds fired they kill half to a third as fast. Shot guns do not even stand a chance because they get one shot and it has to be perfect. You have to be dead center mass to get the one shot kill otherwise by the time you get the second shot off they probably have killed you. Currently with how FMGs hold power over every other gun at CQS makes the game unenjoyable. This really hurts objective games means most becaus alot of objectives are placed in tight spaces.
Yes we all can beat noobs with Akimbo FMGs but still they will get kills no matter how you try to outskill them. Just the amount of power in these guns can give a person with lack of skill some easy kills. All MPs in my opinion are too powerful with Akimbo attachment. Leave them MPs in the game by all means but take the akimbo attachment off them and you will gain alot more enjoyable and balanced gameplay.
Now another reason why they ruin the game they take away alot of peoples reasons to use the overkill perk. Currently the overkill perk is seen once in a live time because really there is no better cqc weapon that gives easy kills like Dual MPs.
