Figured I'd share with anyone that gets annoyed dealing with the error message.
Click reply as if you were going to post then hit cancel. Hit reply again then type your message. When you post after doing this it just goes straight through.
Alternatively you could just use the advanced editor.
Doesnt work ;(
Really? I swear it works for me. That's weird.
I just hit "add reply" and then refresh the page.
Yeah I used to do that or just go back to the main page. I hate clicking the "leave page" prompt though.
Prob doesn't work for me cos using iPad 2 ;(
if youre reading this then it worked
Or, just hit the back key and it will post.
This thread is how to avoid the error message not how to get your post to go through. I just hate dealing with the "leave page" prompt that pops up after I post and get the error message.
It's too bad we even have to do this in the first place. Thanks for the info though.

Sorry, I thought he didn't know how to get the post through. I just use the back button and it posts. Eventually the error message stops for me. At least I can get my post to post.
Let's try this...
Nope still got an error message. Thanks for trying though.
Can you guys try this one? I just noticed I haven't gotten a single error message about posting since I left Cod Elite logged in on another tab in my browser.
Can somebody test this? electric_feel, try it out?
Could be a fluke, but it seems to work.
Gonna try that now... let's see...
I still got an error message, but I'm not sure if I did it right like you said. I logged out of ELITE, logged in again in a new tab and tried to repost but it still didn't work... Did you mean to log out and log in again in a new tab then try?
I tried logging out and logging back in again in a new tab let's see if this worked.
I mean https://profile.callofduty.com
Stay logged in there in another tab whilst posting here at community.callofduty.com.
See if that works.
It seems to have worked! Thanks! Hitting refresh and then pressing leave page every time was getting old. Does this have to be done every time?
I think so. I got the idea when I read in the sticky note on the forum that the error messages were being caused by the new "linked account" system. They're doing some "clever" linking that just doesn't seem to be working.
If you keep that site up in your browser, the underlying cache should hold the credentials and I ASSUME it will work every time.
Keeping these two tabs open while posting "SHOULD" do the trick.
Seems to be working for me. I never really close my browser anyways so this should work fine. Thanks again!
I wonder if we can get a few more people to test this theory and have it added to the "post error" sticky.
How do we get Foxhound or Ghandi to read this? PM them?
No idea, a PM would probably be the best bet but I've heard that when they're not already lurking that it's about as effective as tweeting 402.
I can confirm that this fix works for the Google Chrome browser.
or the web designer could just fix the issue.
Crazy idea, i know.
Made me lol.
Would be nice wouldn't it?
Agreed this would be nice, but I would like to get the word out on the "work-around" if it works for everybody in the meantime.
Or just hit F5 after the error and hit "Leave page"
But too bad you have to edit your post TWICE to get the edit to show up.
ok
