Map packs and elite questions but not the usual are we getting it first bs some questions not asked b4

Ok here goes,

My son has bought the elite but I havnt, now with all other map packs you just needed to purchase them once on one account and every one on the same ps3 could play them,

But seeing as they want every one to buy them do u think when they come out for elite they will create elite only lobbies stopping any one who isn't elite playing them for the first month or what ever time in between them being out for normal ps3 players??

Or maybe even keep it perminantly like that to force none elite players to buy them again, so for my household I would be forced to buy the maps again everytime they come out, :-( hope not lol because they will not get a penny more out of me if that's the case and I will most surely never buy a cod title again, and that's not a moan or groan its just a fact of life

I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything it's just a thought I had and have been wondering for a while now, what do u people think will happen when they get released to elite???

You keep the DLC after the year runs out. I would imagine the maps would be usable on any PS account considering they don't go away.

  Assuming it's on the same PS3, then everyone that uses the system should have access to the map packs. It's been that way since at least COD4.

    @ViennaSteeler Only one account can be assigned to your ELITE at the time. So whoever has the gamertag assigned to your Elite will get them.

  Ok I not really thought about it like that but they could if they wanted to lock them to elite until the first year is over, and the next game would be out then and these maps would be pretty much worthless,

    im not sure if it makes a dif but wasnt bowling talking abut xbox. im not sure the psn is managed like that. i could be wrong probably am but i think once its downloaded and saved on the ps3 it should be accesable from any account on that one ps3. however im not sure how it will work if you have one account on multiple ps3s. kinda like file sharing or whatever

      Well in the past they all been accessible from different accounts on the same ps3, and I can't c how they can change that but.....
      
      During online play they could lock them for none premium elite players, and they could create a play list just for premium members,
      
      The maps could be accessible for any account offline or in private match but when u go multiplayer there could be something stopping none premium elite members,
      
      Hope that makes sense, and I hope I'm wrong, but if they do not lock them for none premium elite members then I could c that causing an uproar with pyrd up premium elite members complaining that people who havnt payed for the mos have them as well, even though one house member has actually payed,
      
      Hmmmmm maybe it's worth a tweet for clarification, but I'm a bit lazy and might just wait gor the next few weeks to pass lol

      Here is what I think is going to happen. This could be completely off base. When Premium members get early access to DLC there will be something like an Elite Premium lobby. This lobby since synced with Elite only grants access to premium members. So even tho the maps are available on all accounts on your PS3 the lobby in which to play them is not. Then once non premium users have access it will open up to everyone like in ever other COD game. Again this is just what I would do so don't think this came straight from Bowling.

      Sorry my phone wont let me edit my posts, I just read that tweet and yeah it seems like a different question really as they are talking about two different xboxes, but atleast it's good of the guy trying to help out

    They have already said that you get to keep the maps (and any other DLC) even if you don't renew Elite.

      Tedge thanks for replying but I think u misunderstood my point,
      
      Me and my son both play on the same ps3 but with diff accounts he had premium elite and I don't, my point is this when he downloads the map packs will I on my none premium elite account be able to play them also or....
      
      Do u think they will have premium elite lobbies only stopping none premium elite members from playing until they either... Come out for none premium members or maybe even make a none premium member playing on the same ps3 buy them to get them to work,

        I think they will tie the maps to the Elite acount and you'll have to play under his name or buy them twice. I do remember them having new map lobbies in MW2 for a month or so then putting them in the general rotation, so that'll probably happen again.

I can't see it being any different from prev games when you download the maps it works like a patch, saves on your h.d and loads up with the game at startup allowing you into lobbies that are new maps. What's different is now you can only download the packs to your own console and one other v trusted persons ps3 with your account on it.

It used to be up to 5 ps3s you could do it on I always shared my maps with a friend . Cod may limit it to one console but the general rule for psn downloads like movies n games from the store is 2 ps3s max now . But in answer to your question I think as your accounts on his machine you'll be fine as with the other games
