We're starting to slowly ramp up what we do with Operations.

Why haven't we done Hardcore Operations:

Hardcore game modes are not as popular as other game modes. This means that we will run the risk of destabilizing the game if we drive everyone to a hardcore game mode due to an Operation. Our networking experts here have been hammering on this issue with an iron fist.

We have Hardcore Operations ready to go, but we need to continue to run more basic Operations until we are certain that there is no risk to the game. We hear you. We want them too.

Prizing:
Those of you who have been keeping an eye on the Program Guide have noticed that we've started running prized Operations for small prizes, like hoodies or t-shirts. We'll be ramping up the types of prizes over the next couple of weeks.

Let me give you some insight into how an Operation occurs.

We have a "Live Operations" team that generates a calendar. These are all the Operations they would like to run for the next 2-3 weeks with prizing, etc. Then a number of folks get to approve and give input on the calendar including Beachhead, IW, and network ops guys.

Up until a little while ago, the Beachhead perspective was "NO OPERATIONS UNTIL WE ARE STABLE" -- we've backed away from that point of view as things have stabilized. Our attitude is now "ramp up slowly, more variety, more prized Operations please, we need to refine our cheating direction."

IW's perspective is focused on the game. They want to ensure that Operations do not impact game balance. Our network guys are the ones most concerned about things like Hardcore Operations. They spend a lot of time balancing the back end and if everyone started playing Hardcore one day it would be bad for stability of MW3. These guys have the final veto -- if they object we do not move forward.

We've seen a lot of support for Hardcore Operations here. I've asked the guys to let me know when they will be comfortable running these. I'll let you know when we have an answer.

Beachhead

beachhead thanks for the great reply there are alot of hardcore players who are waiting for the ops and events and they were advertised in the beta cos i have 3 gold and a silver and im waiting to rack up some more so thanks for the knowledge of knowing my money was not wasted on elite cos i had to stand in a que for and hour in the rain waiting so icould get that founder status lol but thanks again for the responce

Beachhead hardcore or core it does not matter i will still win but Beachhead i am from the UK but the problem is that i cannot play on the same operation as some of my clan members. I have brought this issue up everytime. just restore the operation back to it's previous state where everyone can compete together and just create different times on different days for the operation so that it does not matter what country you are in you will still get a chance to play and also to play with your friends in other countries.

Also the same for clan operations. Almost every clan has a member from a different country or region. You can't exactly expect clan operations to be like lone wolf operations. It will never work.
