I just hate it when my friends make fun of me online because my kd ratio would only be like 1.5 while theyre k/d ratios are all aorund 3.0.... but i have a 5,000 score while they have a 1,000 score... can someone consol me and agree that its allll about the score because the score is how you RANK UP!! im sitting on 4th prestige while theyre all 1st. so does this happen to anyone else?
im myyyy opinion..k/d ftw
K/D for TDM On MW3
SPM for blops
SPM...is none in MW3
So basicly you think rank = skill. LOL.
Are you sure they're your friends?
Honestly if people made fun of my stats, I wouldn't consider them friends, I'd consider them douchebags.
I play with mates who have 0.5 - 1 K/D's but they are the best objective players I have played with. One of them is ranked 827th in Domination and his K/D is just around 1.
They play to win, not to gloat about their e-peen ratio. None of them even dashboard to preserve their stats.
To answer your question, I don't think score or K/D is important. I think SPM in Black Ops defined who played the objective vs. the player who killwhored at the back of the map.
well said
I feel like if your not playing for the team than it really doesn't matter what you KD is. I mean if your playing cap the flag, I understand that you may have a low KD but are running for the flag, and thats fine. I also understand that someone has to protect your flag, so they might have a higher KD, but a lower objective points, and that is ok too. Many people take on many roles. However if your playing say... idk... domination and you are just camping for killstreaks and not bothering to defend or capture a flag than that is not cool.
neither, it totally depends on what you play. I do alot of domination, I get killed alot trying to cap bases so my k/d suffers alot from that, but I usually always top score, 150 points per cap > 50 points per kill.
everything is subjective to styles of play, not how good or bad you are, although it generally give a good description.
Peoples only concern of KDR is ruining the game. Nothing wrong with striving for a good kdr while playing but when it is your only motivation to play then usually you aren't a very big help to your team. My goal is to be the best player in the match, to be the guy ontop of the leaderboard for that game and thats how I play. I keep around a 2.0 for a kdr but this is just a reflection of how i play. I don't rush into unknown territory, i go for one on one fights and i dont take objectives unless i have team support. I used to but i got so tired of almost capping something bymyself while my team mates sit around and watch.
One bunch of guys i party up with have kdr's of .8-1.5 but we win every single TDM we play when we all get together. Main reason being if we run into high kdr players they leave once they find out they might have a challenge. The other day we went against a full clan with the tag [****] ( go figure ). Soon as we enter the room we hear ( we dominate this lobby you all might aswell back out ) blah blah blah. We win by 5 kills, they blow up and all back out.

This, in my opinion, is what is causing so many people to "camp". I don't really care if they do because I adjust.
Same here.
I mean the high K/D players end up losing alot. They may get their Pave Low, AC-130 etc. but I've seen a number of these 2.5 - 3K/D players lose because they forget the purpose of domination, capture & defend flags. They sit at the back of their spawn for the entire match.
Fun > everything.
I've spent my time in MW1, MW2, and Black Ops only concerned about leveling, leveling, leveling. Getting a big score, getting an epic KDR, and in the end, nothing eventful happened. I left Black Ops with a 3.2 KDR, then came back and sniped my way down to a 1.4
I'm at the bottom of every scoreboard, now. I almost always go negative. But you know, I've had the game for just four days, all four have been spent sniping, and I'm having a blast.
tl;dr do you, because in the end, you're the only one who will care about your stats.
I do
Outside of TDM score would be more important.
In TDM however, no KD is everything in TDM.
Remember in halo 3 how you got a k/d spread with how many kills positive or negative you went? that's how I judge how good people are in TDM.
I was in a game against some guy earlier who went 6-1 and was bragging about his 6 k/d ratio for the game, and calling my brother garbage because he went 25-14. Personally I'd rather go 25-10 with a 2.5 ratio than 9-2 with a 4.5 ratio. But I guess this doesn't work for objectives really...
Nice gt lol.
Score and KD can be boosted in many ways.
KD: Straight up boosting or Demo spawn trapping
Score: Tac Insert collecting tags (Kill confirmed)
Score Per minute would be the best way to tell whats better.Yes it can be boosted but can easily be told apart from legit scores. Sadly IW are to arrogant to take ideas from Treyarch.
