Calling all Snipers: Sniping Defined

I have read alot of discussion on quickscoping, camping a sniping.
First let me address quick scoping, i have no issue with those who do it, but lets call it what it is and is not, it is quickscoping and it is not sniping you are simply using a sniper rifle as a high powered pistol. There are no sniper tactics associated with quickscoping.
Is sniping camping, IMO, somewhat and here is why based on how i play.
Sniper tactics involve the following.
A sniper is a marksman who shoots targets from concealed positions or distances exceeding the capabilities of regular personnel.
The term "hide site" refers to a covered and concealed position from which a sniper and his team can conduct surveillance and/or fire at targets. A good hide conceals and camouflages the sniper effectively, provides cover from enemy fire and allows a wide view of the surrounding area.
The main purpose of ghillie suits and hide sites is to break up the outline of a person with a rifle.
Many snipers use ghillie suits to hide and stay hidden. Ghillie suits vary according to the terrain into which the sniper wishes to blend. For example, in dry, grassy wasteland the sniper will typically wear a ghillie suit covered in dead grass.
Often in situations with multiple targets, snipers use relocation. After firing a few shots from a certain position, snipers move unseen to another location before the enemy can determine where he or she is and mount a counter-attack. Snipers will frequently use this tactic to their advantage, creating an atmosphere of chaos and confusion.
As sniper rifles are often extremely powerful and consequently loud, it is common for snipers to use a technique known as sound masking. When employed by a highly skilled marksman, this tactic can be used as a substitute for a noise suppressor. Very loud sounds in the environment, such as artillery shells air bursting or claps of thunder, can often mask the sound of the shot. This technique is frequently used in clandestine operations, infiltration tactics, and guerrilla warfare.
The occurrence of sniper warfare has led to the evolution of many counter-sniper tactics in modern military strategies.Friendly snipers can be used to hunt the enemy sniper
Now i try to employ all of these tactics into my game play on maps that are sniper friendly, for instance you wont find me sniping much on Dome or Bootleg, However Mission, Bakaara and Village are my favorite sniper maps. It is my goal to have a primary and a secondary hide site and sometimes a 3rd, the 2nd site being one in which i can observe the primary site after moving. My goal is to move undetected and shoot from a location that gives me a clear line of sight and that is somewhat defensible, which is a challenge in and of itself as we get more days into playing the game i have to find less popular hide sites. If i get caught because i have spent too much time in a hide site then that's my fault because i have violated basic sniper tactics.
There is nothing more fun to me than to play TDM Hardcore and get into a sniper battle, counter sniping is the most fun way to play this game for me. If you think sniping is camping then duh that is what snipers do, they camp but if you build a house instead of a tent then you get what you deserve. If your hide site is resulting in you getting blasted all the time than that is on you.
To me true snipers are the ones who have a per match K/D ratio of 4 to 1, more killing of the enemy and less dying by you results in match wins. If you have a K/D ratio of 2 to 1 while quickscoping then you are just lucky
If you believe in these tactics and this is how you play, meaning you love sniping and counter sniping, add me TDC7367.
With that i open the floor to debate.
T/L D/R fully, too many sniper threads as it is. Everybody is free to use snipers as they like, IW is the one that could balance them better.
To me a good cod sniper does it all. If he is a stationary player, so be it, I prefer to be an active player myself which is too hard on these maps, as is sniping in general as there are not many sniping spots, yet it's clearly to easy with quickdraw and this little sway too. More open maps, no quickdraw ads speed, would be ideal for this game.
btw IW said to bring back qsing with quickdraw too, thus people really should not be whining this much, this is what you should have expected buying the game in the first place. Though for people that played black ops as their first cod, this must be hell.
I started of with the run'n'gun-smg/ar style of play. But I find myself wanting to more support my teammates for the moment in TDM/KC/Dom matches. So I play the counter-sniper/designated marksman game and as such most of my matches to the effect of having kills in the in the upper 10's to low 20's and deaths in the 5 or less category.
And that is probably why I get so damn flipping irritated at the QS-glitch, albeit intentional or unintentional on the part of IW. It sort of sets me on edge that a class of my choosing should not be skillful to learn, i.e. patience of selecting targets, stationary and mobile, and planning lines of fire, rather than the hop, skip, jump, spin bullcrap thing of QS.
Snipingdbag raises a fair point in some other posts of his that it is the combination of factors such aim assist plus smg style-ads that causes a general imbalance of the sniperclass, but one that I have over the past 48 hours found myself having to accept via "blunt force trauma" due to the ignorance of IW of not balancing out the power of sniperweapons vs game mechanics.
Big Duke I love this post. Thank you for the definition it really was fun to read. Actually that's exactly how I played my entire prestige 1. This time around (4) I told myself I would do stealth specialist only, but I really miss sniping; even more after I read this.
As a sniper I am sick and tired of the whining about QSing. I literally never run into them. And when I do they suck. Ppl need to understand if u start screwing w the sniper ads you also screw our ability to hit longer range targets, which move out of the way even more quickly. Blops did a little jiggle, sucked big time esp for long range targets. The same thing will happen if u slow down ads. It would be a serious handicap and I am glad iw brought back integrity to the rifle.
