Last I heard, optimizing your connection for online gaming was what you were supposed to do. Just so happens in older games that meant getting as low a ping as possible and opening ports if needed. It's the devs fault that optimizing means slowing down your connection on MW3 (assuming that's true, I've tested it and have not noticed any great benefit).
Games in MW3 are so random though, it would take a pretty large sampling to see which one made a difference. I can go 40% accuracy with the G36 in one game and dominate completely with a 10+ K/D semi-rushing, all gun kills. Then, same lobby, same people, barely go positive the next game without being able to land a shot a lot of the time. It's funny to look at my elite stats and see how different every game plays.
I just finished two FFA games where, in the first, I could have sworn the leader was cheating he was so far ahead of everyone. I never even had a chance to hip fire against him. Then, the next game - same lobby, same people - I went 30-5. The same player could not touch me. He sent me a message after saying I had an aimbot. But really, it was all the game. It practically decided who would win or lose before we even started playing.
I really like nearly every aspect of this game except this. The unlevel playing field it's putting us on. Ironically done in the name of leveling the playing field
