Ghandi, lets be honest. After 7 months you still haven't a clue what's messing up the game and have to implement a feature to monitor what's happening??? Apart from that additional traffic you might generate this seems llike you wasted 7 months with what? Waiting how many players will post here and there or just abandon the game? Maybe some placebo patches or even some that make everything worse? Well at least for matchmaking you wrecked the game even for solo players.
My prediction is that this game might become playable when BLOPS2 comes out. Not because you finally fixed the game but because cheaters, hackers and bottleneckers will move on to the next title. Great job.

Sorry guys, I think I shut Ghandi down when I asked him what the problem was regarding premium members and matchmaking. Must be a pretty embarrassing problem they found. the issue is one that has always faced
I'm still here.
The issue is one of fracturing the community and is an old problem as you highlight. Additionally, we have many more playlists than in previous titles and this compounds the problem. The other issue is that we are more narrowly looking for people who match your specific player population due to the regional component of our matchmaking algorithms. We hope this issue will be resolved within the next two weeks.Cheers,

Do you think with learning and advancements in the future, the systems you use in these games will be dynamic enough to possibly be able to trump disparities in internet quality and issues in player base fracturing to the point that all of the issues these things create will be gone? Just curious where you think all of this stands regarding the future. Cheers

Sync issue man why is it so hard to address limited resources on xbox360 also?
No we cannot hot-fix this issue although we have the ability to change parameters which affect the lag compensation systems on the fly. In the next TU to hit a platform we will be logging information that will allow us to better determine what these settings should be as well as provide us with data that will hopefully lead to a code fix to the issues people are suffering from. Also, as I have said previously we are deploying a number of changes to the matchmaking system which we hope will have a dramatic impact upon the quality of games players are joining.

So basically the nexct TU on consoiles which is due within what two weeks? has the instruments for you to then spend x number of weeks collating data , for a fix that will then be included in the following TU or more likely the one after that.. as the TU in cert now is the dhm nerf one that is due second week in july right?
Maybe im reading this wrong but to me that says stuff like host disadvantage and the horrible lerps isnt going to be addressed for another 4 weeks at least (Tu after the next one)
I really dont understand this , Without sounding arogant here, months ago I pointed out to you the lerps was set incorrectly heck you can see it is just by playing, ive also told you months ago your region fencing is screwy (two things you recently confirmed were the case) how comes i can work out where the issues are without the need for fancy backend instrumentation? On top of that people have said from day 1 host disadvantage is killing peoples enjoyment why cant you just scale the setting down anything lower than it is now is an improvemnt.
Add to this your guys over dose of community interaction now where everyone is saying different things ..it's leading the community to really get annoyed, you say one thing., Mark Rubin says something completely opposite, then you got Tina and Candice giving people false infomation/hope by basically lciting a wishlist (i have noticed the iw twitter account tonight clarified that but still.. left hand right hand no communication issues seriously.
and tbh you're now doing stuff that you guys should've been doing months ago, 7-8 months in and suddenly its all hands on deck to fix latency and connection issues that have been common knowledge since day 1 seriously you had no backend instruments to monitor connections? pulls up desk thumps
I apologize for the frustration maccabi. We have a new community team. We are in the process of establishing how this group coordinates messaging across the different social media outlets. As part of this process I will eventually withdraw from posting on these forums and individuals from the community management group will take my place on a full time basis.
Regarding the suggestions you make they have been valuable. However, as I'm sure you understand these are systems that try to balance an inherently complex problem. We fixed all the things that obviously jumped out at us as being potential culprits. We wish to proceed in a more surgical manner. For what it's worth to dispel a misconception there is no active host disadvantage code running. I don't mean to imply that many hosts are not suffering a disadvantage, however.

IW/Activision chose to make this OLD problem even worse by introducing more fragmentation in the form of ELITE. You shouldn't introduce such a service if you can't manage it in a satisfying way. Also scrap some of the fancy playlists if that's what ruins the game. Revert Dropzone, Infected and FFA variations back to private matches where they belong. If that's what it takes to make this game enjoyable again you are obliged to do so and they suck anyway. I don't care if they got a big fanbase because 90% of them is in for boosting anyway. Please copy & paste mw2's playlists and make kill confirmed a moshpit with TDM and were done here.

We are learning all the time both from our successes and our failures. Our plans for the network layer in future titles have been influenced heavily by what we have discovered on MW3 both at IW and at other studios within Activision. The short answer is yes we are confident that connectivity will improve.

Since you are in its time for some fun. Can we stop pretending that the emags "glitch" was not intentional. Honestly It was first reported 2 days after the game came out. You team could not have possibly missed it.
I find it entirely strange that an "unintentional" 50% increase in damage only made one shotgun even close to over powered (striker). Shotguns are given a 50% increase in damage above what was designed and only one shotgun becomes a problem balance wise? Its entirely obvious that it was intensional. This is the only thing that can explain how the shotguns were initially balanced. A 25-5 damage spas 12 and a 6 pellet ksg are impossible to consider balanced without the light at the tunnel being extended mags.
On the main page of this thread it says "slight nerf to the striker". The only thing that was done to it was the removal of emags glitch. So again to consider that a nerf that means that emags had to have been taken into consideration for balance purposes.
With that point established lets look at the 1/24 shotgun buff. Emags glitch has been made standard on the ksg and usas. Essenitally they were made easier to level. Is that a buff? If the upcoming dragunov buff was the ability to unlock viable scope earlier would you consider it a buff. It changes nothing in the long run. The aa12 was nerfed. We still need to talk about the aa12. I put together a 16 man aa12 private lobby and we were not able to get the game to start stuttering with 16 people constantly firing the aa12 at the same time. The 1887 is untouched since launch. The spas lost 84 damage up close and gained 72 at range. This effectively balanced the spas' range performance but made it unreliable up close.
The spas is the only shotgun to have seen any long term performance change since launch.
Has your team seen all the shotgun hitmarker vids? Have they had any discussion that has had solving that problem as its topic?
If you take the time we will walk you through the logic behind our position step by step. There is irrefutable evidence supporting our position. We need to have a discussion about this.
I have this post saved on my computer and I have several accounts lined up to post it. We were promised things that were never delivered. We need to have a talk about this.
I assure you that this was an unintentional bug. The extended mags attachment was always intended to increase the number of shells one carries, not the number of shells dispatched in a single shot.

This will not generate any extra in game traffic. The data is transferred as part of the end of game match summary.
