Camping, so what?

First off I will say, I don't camp very often. However with that said there are times I do camp, it's all about strategy. If I am running and gunning and everyone else is doing that, but I am not doing well, getting out gunned what have you, I'm going to camp. It is a legitimate strategy really, if you think about it. Why keep running around getting slaughtered because Oh my god, I can't be a camper! It's non sense! Campers do not bother me, if they want to spend thier time in a corner hiding so be it, you just have to learn the camping spots. And before you go around the corner etc, throw a flash... there are ways to get the campers. You just have to know where the spots are and choke em off.. So, all this wasted time crying about camping, I just don't get it... hunt em down, kill them... simple. But the moral of the story here is why waste your time complaining about it?

You can explain camping perfectly and there will still be those people who think rushing is the only strategy. They will never understand that some people just DO NOT like running around. There are just as much counters to camping as there are to rushing, most people just refuse to learn them.

I agree with this post... I see a lot people complaining about campers but like I said before you use the strategy that works for you.

I like the term tactically holding down a position.  But campers don't bother me the two dudes on my team that went 4-43 and 2 -31 running around with the javelin bother me at least campers usually sit by flags and pick people off these guys did nothing of the sort and that is what grinds my gears

In response I'm going to complain about all those stupis rushers. Why the hell are you running up the middle of the map?? Why do you keep running into the other guys bullets? Rushing takes NO skill all you have to do apparently is make sure you sprint as much as possible. Sure you finishes 2-30 and lost the match but you wern't camping so you are some kind of god.

Geeze people get over it. In my time playing COD games I have ran into some AMAZING Run n Gunners and some even more AMAZING campers. I have watched people throw themselves at someone trying to take them out and failing over and over. GOOD camping takes a hell of a lot of skill.

People paid their money to play the game how ever they want. So just let other people enjoy it the way they want to.

I don't mind people that hold down an area of the map or are protecting an objective. The people that irritate me are the ones that find a corner, throw on Assassin, Blind Eye, and a suppressor, aim down their sights and just wait. This is not how the game is meant to be played.

In MW3, it almost seems like you have to be somewhat of a "campy" player to do well.  And by "campy" I don't mean laying prone in a dark corner with a tactical insertion for the entire match waiting for someone to run by.

I rush during certain times on certain maps that have tight corners and are much more catering to run-n-gun, SMG tactics (Arkaden, Dome).  But for other maps such as Resistance, Hard-Hat, Carbon, etc., there are simply so many lines of sights that running and gunning may often not yield consistent results.

The way that the maps in this game are designed lends to more tactical gameplay because there are so much debris and clutter scattered to allow multiple obscure lines of sights.

I mean, if you can run around all game and maintain a 3.0 K/D then all the more power to you. But for the rest of us average players like me, I also play a more conservative approach.  Run from cover to cover.  Aim down sights while you turn corners.  Check every corner, throw flashbangs before entering, and ADS walk through heavy traffic areas.  I also try to run back and forth between 2 flags in domination and defend them.  I don't really think that should be considered "camping" at all.

There is nothing wrong with camping, if folks want to run/rush thru the map like some crazed fool then they deserve  to be taken out but a squatter.

People underestimate how useful Recon is. Helps with campers
