Lack of sniper-friendly maps

As much as I love the game and the way things have turned out thus far, I'm disappointed in the lack of Sniper-friendly maps in MW3 (not talking about the QS garbage the newfags call sniping). I'm starting to think the maps were only designed with QS in mind, not to mention it's so easy to do now that an untrained monkey would look pro.

Does anyone else feel this way? Should we have more sniper-friendly maps (more sight lines, higher elevations, etc)?

yeh definitely mate. would love some more wasteland style maps in the DLC. Lets hope.

Not just Wasteland; there were only two maps in MW2 that I couldn't snipe properly on: Rust and Vacant. Each map was at least 50% rectangular, and had a sufficient amount of linear sight lines, so you could easily find another spot after getting a kill or two.

Now, you're lucky to get one line of sight on ANY map; most of them are so CQ oriented that it seems traditional sniping was ignored in favor of the garbage QS minority.

Yup, agreed. Maps too small and the bigger maps have no line of sight.

Good to know that someone out there feels the same way I do; with all the fighting over QS in the weeks prior to the game's release, I had a feeling I'd be a bit overshadowed, and the traditional snipers wouldn't speak up.

Yeah I've only been playing with sniper and it's very difficult. There isn't many sniper spots.

Hmm. for FFA I would disagree. But in Team based games, I can agree somewhat. The snipers are very easy to use though so just get good at quickscoping since that is also really easy to master in this game.

I don't believe the maps are CQ oriented because even with a shotgun, it's impossible to do well. The way I see it, all the maps were designed for assault rifles.

You shouldn't have to get good at quickscoping to use a sniper.. the maps are just terrible for sniping.. make an entire DLC or two with only sniper friendly maps to balance it out.. right now it's rediculous.. you HAVE to quick scope if you want to use a sniper.

You can try and find a spot to snipe, but stay there more than 30 seconds and you'll have 3 people behind you already shooting you.
